Evenflo Big Kid AMP High Back Booster Car Seat, Static Black

My son has used this booster exclusively for almost a year and a half now and it's still working great for us. This is a booster seat- it's only function is to keep your child in the correct position to be able to use the car's regular seat belts. The booster does not attach to your car- the seat belt holds it (and your child) in place. The nice thing about that is it's ridiculously easy to move it from car to car if needed. I like this booster because it's narrow (I have three other kids/carseats in my car), extremely lightweight, and very easy to use. I know multiple reviews said that it's uncomfortable, but my kid has never said anything about it being uncomfortable. I don't think there's any less padding than any of our other carseats. We've also never had any trouble with a water bottle or cup falling out of the cupholders. I am definitely going to buy more of these when my other kids outgrow their carseats!

First off, my wife and I were looking for some child booster seats as my oldest 2 kids are of the appropriate height and weight for boosters. My wife found these based on a friends recommendation. We ordered 1 at first, then after a quick delivery, painless, easy installation, my daughter loves it! She loves the space it gives her and the built in cup/snack holders. Our vehicles' rear seat belt shoulder strap fits perfectly without the included seatbelt adjustment strap and so far we have had no issues. We have since after a week or so, bought another one (different color) for my son. They both love the booster seats as it makes feel like they have more space/freedom of movement, and we love it as it is secure (so far!) and a great value and easy to install and clean.

I have had this product for several months now and I absolutely love it. It fits well in my car and the build of it ensures that the seatbelt sits correctly across my four year old's chest. I really like how it fits in the car well enough for him to easily buckle his own seatbelt, and it is narrow enough that I can fit two other car seats in the back of my sedan (Toyota Prius). Also, the side pockets are great for him to be able to reach his drinks and snacks. He likes having arm rests and the design is very stylish. He recently fell asleep on a road trip and the neck support helped his head to not slump over and made his head considerably more comfortable than other booster seats. The padding on the lower portion of the seat could be thicker, and my son's bottom tends to get uncomfortable on long road trips. It is really light and easy to switch between vehicles, especially since it takes about 15 seconds to install. I have not been in an accident with it (thankfully) but it looks like it would hold up well and feels sturdy. This is a great booster seat that can combine the seat back or that can be removed to just have the seat base. The seat back can be adjusted up and down as required. The padding and construction seem decent. There are seat belt guides that look like handles just below the head restraints. They do help to keep the seat belt from cutting into the neck or from resting below the shoulder (both configurations are dangerous for kids), but you may need to raise or lower the seat back until the seat belt finally rests between the shoulder blade and the neck (see manufacturer's instructions for correct adjustment). The only issue i have had with the seat belt guides is that the seat belt can get twisted easily if pulling the seat belt quickly. Taking care with this and it's not a problem. If you elect to use the seat base only, there is a strap that will serve the same function (to hold position of the seat belt) if attached correctly. I really like this feature. I don't much care for the drinks holders (there are two; one either side) as they have a molded section in the seat base, but this only wraps half way around the bottle/cup. There is an elastic strap that wraps around the other half of the container. This arrangement works, and there is probably a design reason why it's done this way, but I can't think what it may be. It may be slightly trickier for kids to securely position drinks in the holder. Delivery was on time and price points seems very reasonable. I would recommend this product.

I bought this car seat because I was looking for a narrow high back booster to fit three across in the back seat of my minivan. We own a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan and the back seat is very narrow (for a family car), probably around 50 inches across. We are expecting our fifth child so we needed to fit three across the back. We actually bought two of these car seats, one for my 40 pound, almost 5-year-old boy, and one for my 51 pound, 7-year-old girl. These two car seats (combined with an Evenflo SureRide in between them) fit the back seat perfectly. I like that the car seat grows with the kids. Since it converts from a high back booster to a low back booster, they will probably be able to use this seat until they are old enough and big enough to ride without it. The cup holders are a nice addition to the seat, and they are placed in such a way that they do not add width to the car seat. My son has fallen asleep in this car seat. The sides of the headrest come out to provide some cushioning on which the head can rest. I've seen car seats with more substantial padding around the head, but my son does not have a problem falling asleep in this seat. Also, I have not had a problem with him slumping over when he falls asleep. This may be because of the placement of the chair or the preference of the child. We were also very happy with the price of this car seat. It met all of our needs for the car and was priced in the mid-$30 range. Overall, this is a great car seat. I switched cars with my husband and when I moved my daughter's booster she couldn't pull the seat belt to buckle herself in anymore. I tried doing it myself for a few days but it was difficult. The problem with my Graco high back booster is that the loop the seat belt goes into is snug so it's hard to pulI the belt out with the positioning of the seat belt location in my car. It worked fine for my 2018 Hr-v but not for my 2018 Rogue. I ended up buying the backless booster of this model and returned it the same day. It's a nice seat but I wasn't a fan. Then I tried this one. I really like this one. The seat belt moves again! My almost 6 year old can buckle herself again. She says the seat is comfortable. Also, it's probably the easiest seat to assemble and install. It doesn't have an anchor system but that's okay. The high back portion is very easy to adjust with one hand, as stated in the description. On, and I love the slimmer design, too!

I am by no means an expert in the realm of booster and car seats but I noticed a lot of negative reviews on here that are based on people not being informed. I thoroughly research these sorts of things before making a decision as my kids safety in the car is paramount. First I would like to address it being flimsy. Its designed that way for a purpose. Its not so much flimsy by flaw. This enables it to follow the velocity of motion and give in the event of an accident. The child is secured with the vehicle belt, so they will not stay in place as with a five point harness secured to a rigid car seat, so this would be of benefit that it would be able to follow the child. As to it moving around after installing... its a booster seat with NO anchors. Of course it will move, the idea of a booster is to lift the child up into position so that the seatbelt fits their body correctly. Its the job of the person buckling the child in to make sure the seatbelt is snug enough that the child and seat don't move around. If the seat can slide around with a child in it while buckled, it isn't on tight enough. This seat is a best bet pick by the NHSA for the fact that it has been rigorously tested and IS safe (when used right). Just make sure when using it with the seat back that the shoulder belt doesn't cross the neck or below the armpit (per the manufacturer in the manual). Make sure to put the lap belt on snug against the child and not over any heavy garments and the seat will not move... Besides the above information, it was easy to assemble and looks like cleaning will be a breeze. It is a hard plastic seat (but aren't all child seats?) But the pad is thick and my two boys seem to like them a good deal. The real test for comfort will be this weekend when we make a two hour trip one way to see family. If I remember, I will update this with how the kids fair comfort wise since that is typically a concern for most when making a decision. I should add that my kids are car babies and like to nap when we go places, and the plus to this seat is that with the back in use the head supports make great "pillows" holding them upright vs falling sideways in the seat.

Bought this booster car seat in 2020 for my granddaughter and six years later her brother is now using it. Easy to take in and out of my vehicle when needed. Not bulky. Love that is has an elastic band on both sides for holding cups.
