Been in Healthcare 46yrs.I thought for sure other companies had (CAUGHT UP) When it came to stethoscopes. I bought 2 cheaper ones and was sincerely going to get my hearing checked they were so bad! Then BECAUSE AMAZON RETURNS ARE SO EASY...I ORDERED A Littman Stethoscope. Turns out. My ears are fine. Littman REMAINS A SUPERIOR STETHOSCOPE AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. IT was My 1st 4 decades ago and this is my 3rd in 40yrs because they last. I got a few cheaper one's when I worked in places where things vanish but always went back to my Littman. I understand why I find problems with patients other's miss. You need a Good quality Stethoscope! Last Aug I found 2 collasped lungs/ Atelectasis on a nonverbal patient EVERYONE ELSE MISSED. I let someone use my Littman who could not hear a heart murmur. MVP is often missed because of people cant hear it. Then I tell them listen with my Littman. They go Ohhh Wow! Now I can hear it!You need quality instruments to practice quality Healthcare and give patient's the best care.Lesson learned. Only Littman for Me.
