There are no 30 unique figures
We got this for our daughter thinking it is as advertised being 30 unique figures but most likely something went wrong at Amazon warehouse. There are no 30 unique figures. They are just 2 figures repeated 8 times each, 4 figures repeated 3 times each and 2 figures repeated once. Our daughter was so discouraged while opening them. When I reported the fact that there are no 30 unique figures to Amazon, their support was great and offered to returned it though it is was opened! Not only that their support refunded the order and offered 50 AED gift card as an apology.

The current Hatchimals Alive! Characters in their individual, single egg boxes retail for a bit more than what this breaks down to, being $2.70 per Alive! box before tax. You would be spending more than $80 if you wanted this many unique figures, because chances are you're not going to avoid duplicates 30 times in a row. So, if you're a die hard fan that wants a very full Alive! set without duplicates, this is about as good a deal as any. As for messiness, you hatch them with water but you can also crush the shells if you prefer the old way. Hatchimals will always be a slightly messy toy to hatch which is part of the fun for kids. And of course designs change over the years to keep it fresh like any brand. If this bothers you, simply don't spend $80 on a new series you don't like.

For the price we paid we expected the various hatchimals in the box. I got it for the Easter hunting as my daughter wanted it so much and I couldn’t ignore it. She was so happy to hunt them but at the end she ended up a little disappointed as she expected all the different items but she got lots of the same. I would not buy it for the second time.

Seemed underwhelming and expensive to me, but hey, my kid loved it.
