YI home camera (Black)

I have a couple of these cameras now and have been hanging on a for a few weeks to see how they run before leaving a review. Overall I am very satisfied with the cameras. Being 720hd, the picture quality is good but not amazing. I have two cameras set up looking out of front and rear windows of my house. I bought my first camera as I needed proof when couriers were not making deliveries after i received a few 'your parcel has been delivered' notices (looking directly at you Amazon). A second camera soon followed to keep an eye on my car in our communal car park. I didn't need crystal clear quality for these purposes. The motion detection is pretty handy. I get notifications when the camera picks up movement and it is pretty accurate. The recordings have been able to prove that I have had a naughty courier who hasn't been doing the job correctly at times! I use SD cards in my cameras rather than subscribing to the cloud services. I can access my recordings easily and managing the data is straight forward. Playback is a doddle! The audio is ok. I don't use my cameras for their audio so couldn't give a fair review of the quality. Night vision..... Pretty useless in practice. Luckily for me, my cameras point out at well lit areas so when it gets dark they are still pretty decent. You get a fairly good quality black and white image in these conditions. I found my first camera a bit of a pain to set up but my second one was fine. The instructions are really straight forward and the hardware and app walks you through setup well. The phone app is great. Lots of options available to personalise your setup and run multiple cameras. The desktop application is simple but very straight forward to use. I have a second computer monitor running to use as a CCTV screen where I can see both cameras running at the same time. For the low price I paid for my cameras, I would say they are excellent. If you need really high quality images, maybe look at alternatives but for a cheap and easy to setup system, I would highly recommend yi.

Great cameras, good value for money and a very easy setup. I have 8 of these, various models and ages from the last 4 years. I even used a indoor model as an outdoor camera in a sheltered spot and it's still fully functional. Really let down by the software and the advertising. I don't want a game from the play store demo playing before I can view my camera. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend them on that basis. A once excellent product ruined by advertising. Now with twice the advertising and a 90 second view of live video. User experience terrible unless you pay £130 subscription. It gets worse, now I have to pay to unlock HD live video. This is for the 1080p Yi Home Camera. I really like this little camera. Image quality is good, it has night vision and is very reasonably priced compared to some other cameras. Set up was very easy and took about 2 minutes. It is powered via a 6ft long micro USB cable. If you want to put it up high or somewhere more than 6ft from a mains socket you can buy USB extension cables or connect it to a rechargeable powerbank and this means you can put your camera more or less wherever you like as long as its indoors. The most Impressive thing about this camera for me is the ease of connecting to it via the 4G network when I am out and about, something which some other cameras seem to struggle with but which seems to me to be essential. I had the builders in recently doing my bathroom and my Yi camera caught them having a nosey in my bedroom while I was out. Needless to say, they withdrew pretty quickly when they noticed the camera! I promptly received a push notification to my phone and had no trouble viewing a 6-second clip of the event which started just before motion was detected so I didn't miss anything, and also the live feed, all over 4G. When I got home I was able to access the SD card in the camera and view the whole event. The camera keeps recording to the SD card for 2 minutes after motion ceases just to make sure it doesn't miss anything. Overall I think this is a very good little camera for the price.

Carina esteticamente, buona visione, app funzionante, peccato che nella confezione non c’è un trasotmatore/connettore italiano, non che sia grande problema chiunque oggi è in possesso di un alimentatore usb, però non è ben chiarito nella descrizione di legge unicamente for UK nulla più Purtroppo debbo variare la recensione da un paio di giorni il microfono non funziona più.....
