GUEnergy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, 24-Count, Birthday Cake

I have never chewed a gu gel until this one. It really tastes like cake frosting. I don’t even like birthday cakes.

I take a caffinated one of these right before my weightlifting session and a non-caffinated one 45 minutes in. I can go all out for 90 minutes without my energy fading. They are very expensive, but it's well worth the price. Tastes great too.

GU is already my go-to fuel during long runs - no stomach pains, easy to eat while moving, and the package doesn’t get too sticky.Flavor: childhood in a nutshell - fake vanilla flavor with a hint of chocolate from “sprinkles”. Not overly sweet at all.Effectiveness: definitely gives a boost of energy before or during an activity. Usually eaten every 45 minutes and it keeps me balanced throughout the run.

I do endurance horseback riding and I am TERRIBLE at snacking to keep my energy up on trail. I was bonking HARD in the summer heat last year and a friend gave me a different flavor. It was ok, but not one I knew I'd enjoy or look forward to.Gave these a try and I LOVE THEM!! I look forward to eating (slurping!) them on trail and they have helped keep my energy levels and and I haven't bonked since.

These are over priced for what they are and how cheaply they are likely manafactured

I started buying Gu because it’s cheaper than other things. I really don’t like the thickness of the gel - needs lots of water to wash down. Doesn’t seem to upset my stomach, though, so there’s that. I also don’t like the fact that the vast majority of flavors contain caffeine.

I am obsessed with these. I usually pack a few different flavors for my long runs, but now that I have these I just pack 3 of them because I never get sick of them. They are so delicious. If you love icing, you will love these my fellow sweets lovers!
