Most if not all of the 1st fabulous album (New Clear Days) & a good deal from the 2nd (Magnets) with a sprinkling of b-sides.. A massively underrated band that should've been so successful. Marvellous..

turning japanese
I ordered this for friends who are going to live in Japan for a year. It arrived in good time so we were able to play it at their farewell dinner and was much appreciated by all!

Mention this band to anyone and they will probably reply "Turning Japanese" - There are so many more layers to the Vapors than that one song - The best song on this compilation is one that they never even bothered recording ("Here Comes the Judge" A live version appears here & you will as the band ask clap along)If there was one 80's band that i would wish to reform it would be these - 'Jimmi Jones' was another hit in waiting that didn't quite make the charts for reasons i can't fathom. The music veers from sedate to crashing mod rock - Too many great songs to name including the one you already know.Do yourself a favour and inhale some Vapors!

Really quite good
The Vapors , maybe seen by some as a one hit wonder band , as Turning Japanese adorns every punk/new wave compilation , if I never heard it again I would not miss it . But as this round up proves there was more to the band than their signature tune .News at Ten , the follow up single I belive is very good ,as are Waiting for the Weekend , Spring Collection , and Trains . For me , it flags a bit in the middle, but then track 18 , Prisoners , I had clean forgotten about this one, recognised it as the first bars tumbled out of the speakers, great song . Disc ends with the cracking Here Comes The Judge , another great song lost to the mists of time. Well worth the sub £5 purchase price , buy it and and you too will think, gosh Ive not heard this in years. (if you are of a certain age)

Crazy Riffs and Eighties Quiffs
From the anthemic opening strains of 'Turning Japanese' you know your onto a winner. A forgotten new wave gem of an album, that stands the test of time. This beauty is guaranteed to get any party rocking, with people pogoing and busting chop socky moves like nobody's business. There should be a petition to get this re-released before it gets discovered and ruined by some awful rock boy-band! Highly recommended, I never get tired of listening to this underrated album.

Kaufen!
