Fantastic product
Excellent quality. The extended nut not only covers the gap in the barrel, but also protects the barrel if the wrench slips and enables the use of a regular sized wrench.

Ties the whole room together
Hey, Innovative Industries! Please sell your 1/2”x28 version here on Amazon! I don’t like using ebay. So, obviously, I love this product. I was working out how to make one when I found this. Say goodbye to the clunky transition from your bbl to your beautiful muzzle device.

An excellent alternative to crush washers
The fit-and-finish of these are "decent." Any rough handling and you'll leave tool marks. You'll need a 20mm wrench to hold this and, typically, a 3/4 on your 5/8x24 muzzle device.Otherwise, these protect the threads and give a nice, even transition from the barrel (assuming it's black as well) to the muzzle device itself without the troublesome gap between the jam nut and brake/comp/etc.

Works on .750" Diameter .308 Win Barrel
I purchased an AERO Precision VG6 Gamma 762 .308-7.62 AR Muzzle Device for my LR-308 build to replace the stainless flash suppressor. The VG6 came with a crush washer, but I wanted something reusable. I researched various types of washers, shims, and jam nuts until I came across this item. I decided to order it because I liked the looks and the functionality.First of all, it has six sides instead of the more typical two of other nuts. Thus the look is more symmetrical and is easier to jam up against the VG6 Gamma which only has two wrench sides. (Not having to have wrenches in awkward positions is a big plus when installing a muzzle device!)This nut is also wider than other jam nuts, which provides more surface area for the wrench to grab—making it less likely to slip. And because of one side being recessed to go over the barrel, the nut doesn’t take up any extra barrel threads than a typical jam nut.The color also matches the VG6 perfectly. So far I am satisfied with my purchase, but only time will tell how well this nut performs. Thanks for reading.2021-11-16: I found out you can also purchase these with a 1/2-28 thread configuration (for 5.56/.223). Check out "rays_surplus" on fleabay. I ordered several and they also came from Innovative Industries.

It works exactly as you would expect it to.. "great"!!
Since I'm not completely decided on which "Gas Block(s)" to run on my recent rifle build(s)*(.308 & 5.56), I don't want to 'rockset' the Flash Hider(s) until I have that all figured out, hence, I got this *Super-duper* "jam nut"..I'm not currently running a suppressor although I'm planning to *after* I'm 100% committed on a Gas Block, then I will properly "time it" with 'rockset' and *eventually* get the "can" for it..>> Using "Surefire" SOCOM 3-prong Flash HiderIt works just as they advertise, which is exactly what I hoped for, and probably what you're expecting.. .. so, JUST GET IT!!Excellent fit/quality, perfectly clears the shoulder on my Faxon "Big Gunner" barrel, much easier to use than a normal 2-sided 'jam nut'!.Planning/hoping to get another one soon for my M4..

Why would you ever use a crush washer?
The installed crush washer was a royal PITA to remove. I tried all the removal tips, but I ended up having to very carefully use a dremel, and two pair of needle nose pliers to get it off without damaged my stainless steel match barrel. This was so much easier to install/tighten and looks so much better than adding multiple shims. I also like how it prevents the torque on the barrel and receiver when tightening.

Perfect way to time your muzzle device.
If you’re looking for a way to time your .30 cal muzzle device without having to resort to over-torquing against a crush washer, this is what you want. Easy to use and looks great.
