The inks will get on you everytime you open them but they wash off fairly easily. The colors are rich stunning and smooth I love it!!!

I've tried several calligraphy sets and ink pens over the years and haven't found anything that really works for me. I had never heard of glass pens, but looked forward to trying them. I wish there had been more instructions but I was able to write with the pens immediately. The pens are very comfortable to hold and I can write beautifully with both of them. I wish one of them had a wider nib for true calligraphy. Both of the included nibs are fine to medium. The inks are beautiful with a slight metallic in each. The water container is useful, although you can't leave the pen in the water.This is a beautiful set. Very giftable. It comes in an attractive box, wrapped in plastic for extra protection. I look forward to improving my ink skills.

It arrived broken. I sent it to my father as a Christmas gift. He is unable to return it.

I was excited to see this glass dip pen set, I have seen a few artists that I admire using one and was interested in trying it out as well. The packaging for this set is very nice, the box is pretty, feels nice, and is fairly sturdy. The inner contents were all safe inside the foam insert. The 2 glass pens feel so fancy and I like the color inside the clear glass. I don't really understand the glass pen holder piece, it seems awkward to use.I wish the ink bottles weren't completely covered in the black labels, you can't really see what the colors are, and the scrap of color printed onto the labels isn't really accurate. You also can't easily check the bottoms of the bottles, because the metallic pigment settles there and you have to really shake each one. I'm not sure of any reason why the bottles would need to be blacked out like they are. It is also very difficult to get the ink out. They all have rubber stoppers that you have to keep in place, to keep them from leaking, but they are difficult to remove and you run the risk of covering yourself in ink if you make one false move. I would recommend making a swatch sheet and labeling each bottle by number, so you only have the headache once.I found both of the glass dip pens to be a bit scratchy. I was hoping for a really smooth, calligraphic kind of art experience and it was just alright. The tips are very fine and made quite thin lines, and combined with the scratchiness, just doesn't look the best. It was my first time using them, but I had a fair amount of ink loaded onto them and I feel like it should have been rather straightforward.All in all, it's not too expensive of a glass dip pen set, and the unboxing FELT luxurious, but then the try-out kind of let me down a bit.
