These work exactly as advertised. What I would recommend is that before you attempt to install them on the jeans, first insert the screw into the button and run it all the way in once, then all the way back out, then affix the product to the jeans where desired. To do this, first run the screw through the jeans material, then simply spin the button onto the screw from the other side of the material and tighten with the small screwdriver supplied with the kit.

I'm very overweight. 350 lbs. I added this as a second emergency backup rivet to all my jeans. Sometimes I hook onto it to test it. Seems to work. none of them have come loose. I think it's good.
