Game of wits, manipulation and speed
This game is a game that can be hard to keep up with if you are bad at addition/subtraction. I play this game with my wife and it is rather competitive. The game does involve strategy and a player needs to have a fast hand to lay down the first fish.I find that keeping the purple cards separate from the main stack helps the game stay more organized. The game focuses mostly on manipulation and flint flush as a way to keep the game steady and fresh.Unfortunately, the rules are quite unclear and leave much to be filled in by your own rules. Here are some rules I find that help the game play more competetively and smoothly.* when flint flush is called, all players pause the game but can continue to look at their cards.*players need to call out (purple) special cards such as beaver buddha when they play them. Game is paused whenever a purple card is played.*Slowdown or pause gameplay a little if the math gets confusing.I'd have to disagree with the previous ratings on certain points. The game is hard to keep organized but can be very fun once you know the cards.Pros:- Fast paced gameplay keeps you on your toes- Purple cards help keep the game interesting- Improves your quick addition/subtraction skillsCons:-If quick addition/subtraction skills are poor, the game can be challenging- If the deck is shuffled poorly, it can affect the gameplay negatively. Shuffle, shuffle and shuffle again. If in doubt, cut deck and shuffle again.- Vague rules make game difficult to play if you like strict playstyles. May need to add or define rules to keep game more controlledOverall, we both really like the game and recommend it for anyone who likes fast paced card games.

!
I absolutely love this game! I played it for the first time at a youth gathering, and it was a great relationship builder!!Handy hints:1) The more people you have, the better!2) The louder you yell, the better!3) More spectators (especially rowdy ones) means more fun!4) The first people to start playing need to make sure to read the directions VERY THOROUGHLY! It is a bit confusing at first, but you will get the hang of it. Once these original players have learned how to play, the easiest way for most people to learn is by watching a game, then slowly being introduced. For example, if you are introducing a person to the game, they first stand outside the circle and observe the chaos, which gets them interested and excited. After the round finished, have them join the circle, and have all players collaborate to SLOWLY show the person how it’s done (KEY WORD: SLOWLY!!). You MUST involve the person (everyone plays with their hands face-up on the table, and you use the cards of the learner whenever possible, explaining each step until they get the idea). Once they get the idea, you can stop the teaching game and start a new, full-speed game. It’s the most fun to get thrown into the fray, and even though they might not be the best at first, it’s fun to watch them improve rapidly!Pros: AMAZING game! Great for both gatherings between friends and gatherings where no one knows anyone else!Cons: I have yet to find a single negative thing about this game (besides the complexity, but that’s easy to get over)Overall: I am so surprised this game hasn’t blown up- it is honestly my favorite game! My sister also asked me to throw in her 20-out-of-5 rating. I would totally recommend this to anyone! Also, make sure to buy this from Amazon, as everywhere else I looked was selling it for at least double the price

We love this fishy game!
Great game for our family. Fun and fast moving. Players race to be the first to put down their fish. Other players work to kill the fish or drop other special cards. Utter pandemonium when someone announces, "belly up my fish is dead!" The game is a little complicated, but the video on amazon does a good job explaining. Also, the artwork on the cards is really funny. Holy fish!!!

Not fun - don't bother
Unfortunately, this game isn't fun. We tried several times but several different combinations of people, kids and adults, agreed it was not fun to play. The biggest issue is that it's too easy for one person to simply blast to a win, because people often don't have cards that can stop him, especially if he has even one or two protection cards. We left it in the shared games pile at a hotel where we stayed.

Not a very fun game. Very confusing
Super confusing game. Not so fun. The cards are nice and the quality is great but the game in general is not so fun.

"Just Keep Swimming"
A completely different and unique game that is just as fun the 100th time you play it as it is the first. Absolutely love the artwork and added pics of my favorite cards in the game to my review. The object of the game is simple - DON'T. DIE.Sounds easy, right? Right...We were able to get our first game started in five minutes. Within six minutes, the trash talking ensued, making the game play all the more fun and exciting. If you want a game nothing like anything out there, order this thing right now. Seriously. Do it.

Directions just seem a little complicated
We started to play games one night and pulled this one out. By the time we understood how to play we changed our minds.
