Serious Flaws - Read Below
This pump does not function for its intended purpose. If you are looking to use this pump to do an oil change on a car, truck, boat, etc. Look for something else. Here’s why:1. The pump cannot self prime and certainly cannot lift oil the length of the dipstick tube and out the top of the engine. The manual says that it is a brass rotary vane pump. If that is the case, it’s not sealed very well of the vanes stick. *IF* you first prime the pump with oil, it will suction a little bit before losing prime again. This may work for pulling oil out of a lawnmower or something where less lift is required, but it does not work for dipstick tub applications2. Even if it did work. The coiled power lead is too short and a bad idea in the first place. The effect of the coiled power lead is that it pulls the pump away from where you have it positioned. So you have this thing propped up in an engine bay on an uneven surface and the coil is fighting you the whole time to pull the pump back towards the battery. On top of all that, the cord is too short. If your battery is on the opposite side of the dipstick, you will struggle to reach everything.Bottom line: Don’t buy it. This is supposed to be a time saving device and at the end of the day you’ll spend twice as much time trying to get the pump to work
