I purchased this battery to replace the worn-out SLA battery in the small UPS (uninterruptable power supply) I use to back up my desktop PC. The decision to switch from SLA to Lithium-iron-phosphate battery chemistry was easy as LiFePO4 batteries cost about the same as SLA batteries but are much lighter and last much longer than SLA batteries. My UPS is over ten years old and, at the time I purchased it, SLA batteries were considered the battery of choice. If purchased today, it’s highly likely the battery would be LiFePO4 technology. LiFePO4 batteries are easily confused with Li-ion batteries commonly used with portable power tools. LiFePO4 batteries are more reliable, have longer lifespans, and are safer than Li-ion batteries. The battery easily fits into the same space as the SLA battery it replaced. I haven’t needed to find out if the battery works as well in a power out scenario, however, my UPS runs a test program several times a week so I’m certain I can rely on it should the need arise.

I purchased this battery to replace a 12v sealed lead-acid (traditional) battery in an automated deer feeder. This particular feeder throws three times per day on a timer, for a total of about 35 seconds dispensing feed using a spinner plate/motor. There is a solar panel to keep the battery charged on sunny days. The feeder was basically killing a battery per year using the traditional lead-acid units. This was my first experiment with lithium batteries in this application, but I have a lot of experience with them more generally. I waited four months to write this review, and so far I cannot lodge any complaints with this unit. The battery has performed perfectly. If anything, the feeder now throws much more strongly than it ever did with the lead-acid battery -- we have nicknamed it the "corn cannon" with its new power source. The battery has been zero-maintenance since it was installed, and I haven't touched it in four months. All status indicators are fine. NOTE: My only concern will be winter time, as it is very bad for lithium-based batteries to charge at below-freezing temperatures. Luckily this is a very unusual situation where I live -- only the few coldest days of winter are freezing during any daylight hours, and it's often overcast when it's that cold. If we have any "arctic fronts," I'll probably just disconnect the solar panel to keep the battery from charging during a weather snap. Discharging lithium-based batteries below freezing is not nearly as bad for them as charging them when it's that cold out. Those in colder climates might consider this issue if you plan to deploy this battery in an outdoor environment.

Bought for security system backup. Old lead-acid batteries don't seem to last much more than a year. So I thought I'd give these a try. So far, so good.

I use this battery to power the lights in my enclosed trailer. I find it to be good quality and serves my purpose well.
