Working great
Needed oxygenation for my 75 gallon tank. i ordered the product along with the sinking sponge filter things :-) Comes with 2. i am only using one at this time as it suits my needs completely. Relatively quiet and plenty of power that can be turned down. sinks to bottom and looks nice n the tank compared to most i have seen. seems to being my fish to life with the added oxygen in the water :"-)

Much better than I expected!
These are better than I expected. They even came with a nice length of tubing for each sponge. I bought these to replace two worn out air stones and add supplemental filtration and they are doing a wonderful job. They are quite "bubbly" and help keep the water moving. They are weighted, and I have had no issues with them trying to float. I suspect that may happen in a very large tank. Pretty much anywhere you might use an air stone, this will most likely be a better option. They add the extra benefit of bio filter and you still get all the bubbles!

Perfect for little tanks and has an air stone
These are perfect little filters for small (2-4 gallons) nano tanks! Happily it comes with a tiny air stone built in for fine bubbles. It fits into the aquarium in a compact way, and is super quiet. Will by these again.

Works well.
I like that it comes with air stones, and I didn't need to customize it to get an air stone to fit. This works as any sponge filter should. It has a round sponge design, which is unique. It is semi course, not quite as course as Aquarium Co-op, but more so than many in this price range. The supplied air stone is the normal 1" style. You could run a higher quality stone, if you have a big pump to really get the air moving. All the negative reviews are strange. Seems people expect a sponge filter to come with a pump??? This thing is like eight bucks, lol. The base is weighted and will sink once you saturate the sponge. It comes with a short length of air hose. I prefer silicone, so I didn't use it. I have the 40 gallon rated sponge in a 29 gallon tank with 2 Penquin 200 hobs running. I also have 2 of the larger sponges in my 55 gallon with 2 Penquin 350s. I have one each of the smaller sponges in my 10 and 20 gallon tanks with Aquaclear hobs. If you are running this as your sole filtration, I would go double, at a minimum, if you're running it in tandem with an hob, running to size should be fine. (I would literally run 2 of the 40 gallon rated sponges in a 20 gallon as stand alone filtration).

Works well!
Good investment and works well at keeping the 10 gallon tank clean and oxygenated. It's been in use for a little over a month now. We have guppies, mollies, a pleco, snail, catfish and they all seem to be happy. This sponge filter replaced a tetra carbon filter that was bulky and you had to keep purchasing the replacement filters for it. So we consider this sponge filter set up as a win win. It's easy to clean and reuse, works great in the tank, has a dual purpose, doesn't take up that much space and comes as a pack of two! A good tank solution for filtration and air.

Cute and chic but floats...good with gravel though
It is so cute and a very chic peice. The only problem is that it floats and my arrangement is on a filter pad instead of gravel. I think it would work great pushed into some gravel or rocks. Sad to have to return it. Also, provides a soft column of bubbles but too narrow for my specific purpose. I need a tornado. Very sleek though.

Quietest Sponge FIlter Eveh!!!
I dont usually write reviews but I am extremely pleased with this product. I bought the pair of small filters. The foam part is the size of a plum and so is easy to hide in the tank. The base is weighted well to keep it in place. The clear plastic column above the filter is not quite the length of a cigarette with a diameter of a finger and appropriately sized. Each filter comes with a reasonable amount of clear tubing that is about the length of your arm. Enough to allow me to use a T splitter to hook them up together. I noticed most of the air ran through only one stone, so I momentarily pinched off the other stone's air supply which opened up the weaker stone well enough that the bubble streams became more equal in volume. I then reduced the air flow from the pump and let them be to bubble away quietly. Most filters of this type dont use an airstone so they make a fair amount of bubble noise. These filters are extremely quiet by comparison because of the airstone. As in almost silent when the pump is dialed way down. Its my understanding these filters work best with a lower flow of water through them so I feel I will be able to keep the flow of air low. At present I have a gentle column of bubbles rising through the tube in each filter. I hope this helps.
