It lives up to its claim of grinding pepper fast. My old one was faster than most, but this is far faster. It is also smooth and easy to turn, and looks sleek. The box it comes in is definitely presentable for gifting, and the all metal heft is impressive, weighing in, full, at about 630 grams/1 lb 6.3 ounces full.It does, in fact, hold about 50 grams of pepper, about 1/3 cup of peppercorns. That is far better than my old one, which holds 27 grams, a bit less than 1/4 cup. There is no fill line, but it can be filled to where the stem diameter changes as that is where the lid sits. In practical use, a bit less would be easier to fill to, as it can't be closed when too full. The pepper grind setting being separate from the opening/filling method is a nice upgrade from my old one, too.The top opens easily, with a press of the button on the top of the mill, for filling and it is a nice wide opening (1 3/4") compared to my old one (1 1/4"). That 1/2" in diameter makes a huge difference. It is also shorter than my old mill, so I can put it in the cabinet, instead of leaving it on the counter. The cap at the botton is a nice feature to prevent pepper getting on the counter and table when not in use.It is clearly a knock-off of the very expensive model also sold on Amazon, currently unavailable, but seems to still be made well. If it is as durable as it appears to be, I will be pleased with this purchase. There is no warrantly information, and there is no manufacturer information in the limited instructions provided, nor on the box. Amazon only lists the business name, Shenzhenshi Xinwei Keji Youxian Gongsi, and its address in Chinese.Overall very good.

A year ago I saw the Pepper Canon on kickstarter and didn't back. My brother ended up buying it this year and he loves it! He didn't like the $200 price tag, but he said it was worth it.The Popwood grinder seems to be the same type and build as the Pepper Canon, and with the 35% coupon it came out to $84 bucks! I bought it and absolutely love it. It's very well built, and spins buttery smooth! The amount of pepper that comes out is insane, and the control is awesome! You will not regret buying this! I love it so much I bought another for my best friend that loves to cook/grill.Just a couple things to note and not a negative in any way, but it does take some strength to grind, not a lot but some, so if you have arthritis or older with weak hand strength, maybe get an electric grinder.The second thing is that the adjustments on the bottom I believe have 1 thru 10, but you can swing the adjustment knob way more than one rotation which is awesome, but not sure why they put numbers instead of arrows and coarse and fine, unless numbers are more widely understood?? Anyway like I said not a negative at all just be aware.Now, go get it, you won't regret it!!UPDATE: Now that I have my glasses on lol! The grind size is marked with a numbered dial (1-10), and SYMBOLS of ascending circle sizes, and "COARSE" and "FINE" printed, so they have all basis covered.Aloha

The media could not be loaded.  Very solid, durable aluminum grinder with effortless, smooth, high-volume grinding mechanism. Easy to use and delivery heavy volume of pepper at a wide assortment of grinds, from very coarse to very fine. A durable, thick aluminum cap fits over bottom mechanism and acts as a cup to catch ground pepper if desired. However, the grinder has one major design flaw: it wobbles a lot if set on counter without the storage cap. The grinding adjustment know extends below the bottom of grinder housing, so without the base, the grinder does not rest flat on counter. It wobbles, which is irritating, especially if you use and set down on counter often. Had they just extended the housing another 1/4", no problems and this would be a 5-star review. The grinder is well-packaged and VERY easy to use and refill. It feels as though it will last a lifetime. Note: the instructions specifically indicate to not grind salt, likely because of corrosion concerns.

I've had three pepper mills fail in the past two years, inexpensive and simple tools that should have lasted a whole lot longer than they did. I was looking for an upgrade--I thought the Popwoods might be overkill, but I was ready to go for it. Not sorry! It's a manual grinder, easy to hold, and easy to refill. The grind size is easy to adjust and offers a wide coarse-to-fine spectrum. After a couple months of use, I'm not noticing any loss of precision or sharpness. The unit overall has a sturdy feel and has stood up to daily use. An occasional wipe with a damp towel keeps it looking good.
