4,100 Seeds Poppy Victoria Cross Flower Seeds Danish Flag Papaver

The media could not be loaded.  I’d grown these before about 6 years ago and loved them, so I fancied having another go. Had no issues germinating the seeds, I mostly just sprinkled them into soil where they were to grow, but I also popped a few in seed trays in the greenhouse just to compare - I like experimenting! Both grew fine and I was able to transplant the ones I hadn’t directly sown, I even gave some away as gifts as I ended up with so many! Got lots of seeds leftover in the packet for next year and have also kept the seed heads of ones I’ve grown. I absolutely love these poppies. Such an unusual and exotic looking flower. No idea what I did differently this time round, but some of the plants turned out to be absolute beasts! See the video for one of the largest. My only complaint is that once they flower, they only last a couple of days before the petals fall off, but that’s the same with most varieties of poppy. Even when the flowers die, the seedheads are very ornamental and pretty to look at. I think next year I will sow seeds every 2-3 weeks to have a continuous display. Beautiful!

In my garden I have some wild seed that grows every year and I love flowers that really pull in the butterflies and bees. I have some Flanders Field poppies that come up and also the odd whit poppy or pale lilac poppy which I presume is from the wild seed I put down (though not sure!) These grew wonderfully tall and strong and many of them they look exactly like the picures that are shown when you order. I will be saving all the seed heads and using them for next year. Withe the other poppies I have plus Nasturtiums and the wild forget me nots they are glorius.

I followed package instructions over a year ago. Not a single flower has popped up.

The seeds arrived in good condition. I can't comment on growth as they were bought for a present. I gave a 3 star because, as stated, they were for a present, and I was therefore rather disappointed that they weren't in a seed packet with a picture as is usual for seeds. My husband printed a picture for me to add to an envelope to improve presentation.
