I chose to buy this mat because it had a cuter design than other similar priced mats ($9 to $15), it had more keys (due to black keys) and a good animal variety.This was bought for a small 12 month baby. She's super exited about it, but she's still a bit too young to understand the gist of it, but she's getting the hang of it and keeps learning. Therefore it's a great product for young kids to learn basic association.All of those musical mats (not only this one) say they got anti-slip/no-slip back. Well, that material is a bit far from being anti-slip, even when used over a carpet/rug like suggested. So for younger toddlers, be sure they are around soft surfaces or that you have an adult ready to help if they loose their balance. Older toddlers might be heavy enough for it to attach better to the floor and be more anti-slip (well, the product does say 3+ for age, so in that case, it would be fine).When the product came, on the outside it was fine, but seemed like one of the wires inside was damaged. Because of that, it didn't have the record function, tiger sound, "i" key and the black key next to it.The seller contacted us to know if our purchase was fine and, upon learning of the defect, promptly offered a refund or replacement. Since this was the item we wanted, we chose to replace it.The replacement mat had no issues, with all functions keys and animals working just as advertised.

It was a bit smaller than I expected but that’s my fault for not measuring it out. It’s for an autistic boy and he seems very pleased with it. It worked well, came early and he enjoys it which is what matters.
