A young child's toy more than anything else.
Yes yes, toy swords are typically meant for kids, but even kids like sturdy toys. This thing is kind of obnoxious to build (why am I even building it??) and the end result is a flimsy thrift store toy. Meh.

Does not work, Won't light up; But got a refund
Just got this in today, carefully read the instructions before assembly. Assembled the sword appropriately but it did not light up, not even after charging the sword for 2+ hours. Calling to get a replacement but being told it would take more that 2 days just to hear back from the Seller/Manufacturer. Was hoping to have this for a Convention next week but now looks like I'll need to find something else. Very disappointed with this product being faulty. Not even sure how to return it since I can't disassemble it to fit in it's original packaging.Hoping to hear back about replacing or refunding ASAP!UPDATE:Got a refund in a decent time frame. Giving one more star for the seller's response.

Coolest product
We purchased this for our kiddo and he loves it. It is also very sturdy. He wants multiple now. So won't be our last purchase.

Better Than a Space Light Saber
The media could not be loaded. I like this MUCH better than the Jedi Light Sabers that the Amusement Parks sell and it costs a LOT less. It's also quite sturdy once put together. I charged it up for about an hour after my last use and when I just now checked it, it was still charged, lit right up, and it's been sitting for over a month. I got just under an hour of use when I tested it by leaving it on. So turning it off after sheathing while at an event should allow it to last the whole night. If not, I'll just use my power brick to freshen it up. :~)My pictures are of this light up sword next to one of my Steel Samurai Swords. The video is of this sword being drawn and some up close and at the end I draw and sheath it a couple of times in a dark room to "try" and convey just how great this looks when lit.Mine is the white LED blade and I absolutely love it!!! I definitely recommend it and will be wearing it at the next DW Studios Stars Wars Event I go to.

Difficult to assemble and cheap feeling
This sword looked so cool, which is why I took a chance on it. Who wouldn't want to wave around a cool, glowing katana? But the fact is, it's made of cheap materials and putting it together was very difficult. The hand guard wouldn't go on unless I carved off a small piece of wood that stood up too high. It felt like carving balsa wood. Super light and cheap. When I tried to put on the piece you need to install before sliding the handle on, I accidentally chipped off a piece. Then, when I slid the handle on, it wouldn't quite go on far enough to make the connectors touch and the light go on. Finally, after some banging it on the ground, the handle was finally on tightly enough and the light came on. You're supposed to double-tap the charging port in order to turn the light on and off, which does work once you get everything on properly. With the sword fully together and in its case on its stand, it looks good. The light looks good, too. But I'm well aware that it's cheaply made and won't hold up to even very light swordplay, which is too bad. If you want this for posing with or for doing cool moves in the air, it will work fine. Just don't try to actually use it, or it will break. The pieces are just plastic and very cheap wood.

Not easy to put together
I don't know if we just managed to get a dud or what but the sword that we received was not easy to put together at all. Supposedly it only takes 4 steps to put together but we ran into issues with the 2 main steps: handguard and handle installation. For the handguard, the height of the blade base was too tall so we couldn't get the handguard all the way up to where the blade starts until I whittled away that extra height. Even then the plastic around the opening of the handguard warped a little bit as we still had to force it into position. Then it was extremely hard to slide the bottom of the blade into the handle. It slid in fine to a certain point and then got stuck. And then we we removed the handle to check that we were doing it right, one of the metal leads at the handle end of the blade fell off. I also had to strip a little bit of the tubing around the red wire to make sure it actually had a connection to the metal lead. Then I read in the instructions that force may be necessary so I basically gripped the blade with both hands towards the handleguard and slammed the handle a bunch of times into the floor. Which worked, but considering that the charging port is situated at the bottom end of the handle, you kinda have to wonder if you might accidentally damage it while trying to install the handle.Despite all the difficulty putting it together though, after charging for a few minutes, we were relieved to find that the light up part of the blade still worked. And truthfully once put together, it does look pretty nice. The entire thing is just wood and plastic though but not bad for cosplay purposes. They just need to make it easier to put together.

A decent but sort of pricey sword for what it is that my son loves
My son likes this sword, once you finally get it all assembled it's a pretty cool sword for a 4-year-old. Assembling the sword is not easy, not so much that it should be difficult, but following the instructions and trying to get all the pieces put in the proper order when I felt that the printed instructions were made for a slightly different model of sort of another revision of the product. The pieces were all there and went together sort of as instructed. I managed to miss a small spacer piece but had already clicked the sword grip in to place and guess what? You can't remove it again (at least easily). So, I wound up just leaving the spacer out which was fine as the small gap wasn't all that noticeable. Unlike others, the light and switches worked fine on mine and looks really cool when the sword is lit and being swung. The additional stand, sword holder/belt and sheath really make my son feel like a real ninja.

Dosent light up unfortunately
Was worried it wouldn’t light up and it didn’t :/ was definitely disappointed. The sword looks great and was easy to put together just wish the light worked.
