This product has been sold virtually unchanged for well over a century. It works. But you do have to understand what it is and how it works. White laundry that is dull and dingy may be physically dirty despite having been washed (some dirt can be difficult to get out), or it may be chemically stained. It's an alternative to bleach for white clothes and can be used on some materials that are not cotton. We have a 10 year old Samsung front loader and it is harder to use this with this washer. Once this washer starts the door locks. Mrs. Stewarts needs to be diluted and should not be applied to whites at full strength as it will make them bluish white. This would be easier to use in a top loader. If the softener reservoir in our washer was larger we could put a more diluted Mrs. Stewarts solution in that and that would work better for us.

The directions say to mix 3 drops of the blueing to 2 quarts of cold water. This bottle will last me the rest of my life. It really works. If you put these drops directly on your white, it will stain them blue. Just follow the directions and never use bleach again. Nothing beats this for whiteness. Thin out a few drops in an empty milk bottle first, give it a good shake and add to wet washing. Can't think of anything more easy or more effective. Came environmentally friendly packaged by really helpful courier. Best price on the internet too.
