I have nothing bad to say about the seller
I have nothing bad to say about the seller. I just HATED the movie, if you could even call it a movie. Acting was bad, budget nonexistent, and script was badly written.

Not worth the time
Honestly, it was good to play in the background while I worked on homework just for the noise. Luckily, the acting and the story was terrible enough that I didn't care to be distracted from reading the academic journal articles I am being forced to read. So obviously, it did the job perfectly. Now for specifics. The story was awful. It was about as much about the Winchester house as Sharknado would be about the weather (and honestly, I would have instead watched Sharknado). It was almost like the creator just heard the name of the house and the idea behind it, but didn't bother to do substantial research. Hell, a peek on Wikipedia would have helped. The acting was barely mediocre. Every line I heard felt like it was being read, particularly by the daughter. The script was also a significant hindrance to the actors. Maybe the acting could have been better if the script had been worth a damn. My biggest gripe about the acting/script was that the character of the daughter seemed like it had been written for a much younger actress. I feel like the writing was suited for maybe an 8 or 9-year-old instead of what appears to be someone who is around 12 or 13.Also, a small gripe, but something that bothered me was the costuming of the ghosts that were supposed to be older. Their clothes appeared to be too modern and not at all period-appropriate. That just ruined the immersion factor for me.Another issue was the very beginning. Who the HECK is that woman and why is she necessary for the plot? She is never once mentioned again.TLDR: Awful movie, weak script, barely-there acting. Just a dumpster fire of a film.

Two Stars
This is kind of dumb because it's not in the house that it should be.

Buncha junk.
This movie is clusterf*ck garbage fire. Not only was the house in the movie LITERALLY nothing like the actual Winchester mansion, but it wasn’t even set in correct area. The acting is HORRID. I feel like the yahoo of a director read a brochure or online review of the Winchester mystery house and said “say no more fam!” and made his movie based on that. Comical at best. Did get a few chuckles out of it.

This movie was not as bad as some of these ratings say.
It's a great yarn with a plot twist at the end. A decent ghost story. But, then, I don't need endless gore to be scared as some viewers do. I've stopped watching much worse than this, including The Blair Witch Project.

Yuck!!!!
I purchased this book because the producer of the A Haunting series that plays on the Discovery Channel was a producer on this film as well. This has to be the worst ghost story I have ever viewed. It really has nothing to do with the Winchester House other than using its name. I saw documentary about the Winchester House on the History channels Haunted America series (?) and it was interesting, this movie was very disappointing. If I had seen it before I purchased it, I would have skipped it. I guess they realize what garbage it is because they also included shows from the Haunted series that played on Fox TX. These shows are OK, but if I had paid the regular price for this DVD, I would have been really ticked off. I tend to watch movies over and over, I could not bring myself to watch this hot mess after viewing it once.

“You can’t trust what you see.” Sage advice from the soon-to-be-dead.
There’s nothing worse than a horror movie shot at night in a house without lights. If you can’t see what’s going on, how can you be afraid of it. Thus, the fear factor is nil. And if the story seems vaguely familiar it’s because The Asylum has a bad habit of ‘borrowing’ plot points from other, better films. The only thing horrific in this movie was the background music, blasted too loud, too often.

It knows what it is and works with that.
This movie knows what it is, a low budget horror flick with off-brand scenery. With that said, I liked this movie. It's not intense and self-important like the conjuring movies tend to be. It's also not a terrible movie. The story itself is a little weird and it definitely is not filmed at/in/around the actual Winchester House. If your looking for a ghost movie on a weekend afternoon then this should do the trick.

I was very surprised to find red and green cardboard glasses to view this 3D film. it was simply awful and not worthy of playing on a 50 inch TV with 3D, It reminded me of the days I used to go to the cinema, films with Vincent Price "House of Wax" so long ago its only value is historical, never mind the film content, which is sheer rubbish with an acting ability a monkey could do, Its worth having for the original 3D concept it was cheap so what can you expect

Awful acting
I don't understand all the 5 stars. It has prompted me to review this film which l hardly ever do. Everyone is spot on when they say that the cover is deceptive, it looks like a good film. The acting is awful, especially the mother. Their "little girl"!looks about 13, she calls her parents mummy and daddy and is just as tall as her mother - who does not look old enough to be her mother. The crying when she got stuck in the cellar is really fake. My family was looking forward to this film based on the cover but it is now in the bin.

The Haunting of watching this
I have seen better acting at my boys school drama's !!! Must be the worst movie l have ever watched, bad acting poor visual effects on 3D and 2D and poor picture quality, the Adams Family would put this in the shade. From the DVD sleeve it looked good but is very misleading. Certainly not worth the money paid sorry.
