It glows in the dark if it has had sufficient exposure to fluorescent light or the equivalent. It's a nice enough clock I guess. If anyone you know is learning how to tell time using this type, it's like this. The small hand designates the hour. The big hand pointed at a number on the face of the clock indicates the minutes. An analog clock is divided into sixtieths. Sixty seconds in one minute: sixty minutes in one hour. The numbers 1 through 12 are measured or counted by increments of five; where the 1 is five minutes after the hour; 2 is ten minutes after the 3 is 15 after. Five ten fifteen twenty ... 50, 55 then back to 0 A twenty's four hour clock cycle begins at midnight where the 12 is represented by 00. Then from midnight, the start of each day, the hours go in sequence 1, 2, 3 ... 10, 11, 12 then 1:00 p.m. being the thirteenth hour of each day is 1300, 2 p.m. is then 1400 hours 3 pm. three being the 15th hour of the day is 1500, 1600, 1700 1800 etc. up to 2300 (11:00 p.m.) then starting over at 2400 military time 0000. One minute after midnight would be 0001 12:15 a.m. in the morning 0015. See. Now don't you feel smarter. It works the exact same way regardless of whether you by this clock or one just like it. And remember. Should the batteries die on you: the clock will still be right twice a day. Thank you. William F. Nappi

Too many scratches

Was delivered with the second hand fallen off. Unscrewed whole case and fixed it. After about one week the main hands stopped moving. Ensured batteries were completely new and charged (tested with multimeter). On about seventh day it stopped again. Checked batteries again and they were still registering a full charge at 1.5V. Then it started working again but I fully expect it to fail again. These cheap clock mechanisms are notoriously bad and it does Amazon's reputation little good to be selling such a faulty product.
