A must have for the new curriculum
A super comprehension collection, excellent for guided reading sessions or stand alone comprehension sessions. It could also be used as assessment revision. My one critique would be it doesn't include poetry comprehensions which would have been useful.

Love it!
Excellent selection of texts - I also have other books in the series and fond them very helpful when planning my lessons. The suggestion for extra curricular activities saves a lot of teacher's time !

Recommended by school teacher
I was recommended this book by my daughters tutor who is also a school teacher and it is used in her school. My daughter struggles with reading comprehension due to problems with her working memory and epilepsy. We have yet to start it as we ordered over the Christmas period but im sure it will be worth it and helpful for my daughter

Great for guided reading.
Fantastic book. I intend to use it for guided reading holding activities. There are several reading tasks with accompanying comprehension questions, plus extra-curricular ideas to extend beyond comprehension questions. Most importantly; there are answers in the back! One thing though, there are virtually no non fiction texts within this book.

Ok for supply teachers but better books out there.
Text and questions seem a little dated. Questions are mainly literal ones with very few reading skills tested. Also questions about vocabulary. If you're willing to put the time in and adapt or write your own questions, then worth a buy. But children wouldn't really benefit from using it long term - not practising a wide range of skills.
