Viking Oracle: Wisdom of the Ancient Norse, 45 Full Colour Cards and 124 Book

I didn't think I would, but I actually ended up really liking this deck. I'm a bit iffy when it comes to runes. I've done a lot of reading about them and I made my own rune stones. I wanted a deck because I'm a very visual person and like to work with cards and images. And I thought that I was mostly gonna use this deck as a training tool, completely dismissing the book. But I actually really like the cards. I'm not much into gods and goddesses but the energy of them in this deck is spot on. And the book is actually fantastic. Simple and well written. I truly recommend this deck to anyone who wants to work with north energy (or how many people interpret that energy these days) but I'd also urge you to get some additional information about the runes and always go with your intuition.The card stock is ok. It's quite thin and very glossy. What bothers me is that the box and book are a different size than the cards, which are pretty big actually. So the cards fly around in the box when ever I take the deck with me. But the deck in total is too thin to not have them in a solid box. If I were to transfer them into a cloth bag, they'd definitely get bend or worse. Don't know what I'm gonna do about that yet.

I really enjoy learning about the Norse Gods so these are great cards.I don't mind that the box is bigger than the cards because the size is easier to handle in my hands.So far, so great.

Nordic Runes oracle deck, if you don't have rune stones you can work with this deck, or you can draw rune stones & mix it with the oracle deck, totally up to you but image wise this is better than the other ones in the market

I would give 10 stars if i could.These cards are absolutely beautiful, the art work is just outstanding. Very clear pictures, and the instructions are very easy to follow. I HIGHLY recommend. They are just perfect.

Love these cards so different

Most of the cards have absolutely no relation to the meaning of the corresponding rune; exoteric or esoteric.Thurisaz, Sowulo and Dagaz are particularly egregious.Several of the runes receive no artistic interpretation whatsoever, being straightforward representations of the stave; viz. Raidho, Nauthiz, Laguz and Othila. A wasted opportunity, given the evident technical ability of Mr Manton.Card number twenty-five ‘The Void’ is a blank rune, which according to Ms Damarco; ‘grew to be a part of the metaphysical and divinatory processes in the runic tradition’. The blank rune was popularized by Ralph Blume in his 1982 ‘Book of Runes’. There is no evidence for it in runic inscriptions, rune poems or other Nordic literature.The additional 20 Viking cards are more successful; although Thor should not appear on Card 38, which deals exclusively with Sessrumnir and Valhalla, furthermore, he has his own card [41].

Sao grossas, firmes, foscas e de facil manuseio.Os desenhos nem sempre fazem alusão aos significados, mas são bem feitos e bonitos.O livreto está em inglês, mas é de fácil tradução. Traz o significado das runas, luz e sombra. Como tbm um mantra, que no mínimo te faz pensar em como usar melhor aquela energia, como conselho.

I love this deck! I have had it sitting in my cart for a few weeks and it wasn't untill I was pulled toward a separate set of runes that I decided I was meant to get them together. I'm so glad I did this.The package was 3 days later then it was supposed to be, but that didn't bother me considering it was due to the carrier and not the seller. Things happen and that's fine with me.As soon as I opened the box I could feel the energy coming from the cards. I was blown away by the art on each card and in the book. The book is a pretty good size and has both useful and intresting contents. The cards are laminated and have a bit of a shine to them. They are about 5 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide. I love the size and the feel of them. They shuffle nicely and have a good hold.Along with the book keeping you motivated to read, the art pulls you in and keeps you focused. This deck is a great choice!
