The mic is crystal clear. and detachable if you want to use the integrated volume slider with built-in mic. I use this on my xbox one. and when it breaks or dies due to my rough treatment, I will buy another.

The earbuds have 2, idk why people are saying one.

Do these have a mic mute button and how do they sound?

There's a mute switch on the control housing. The sound quality is very good. I used these headphones to play Rainbow Six Siege on Xbox, in which sound is a major factor in the game, and I preferred playing with these headphones over my turtle beach headset.

Does the mic have noise cancelling? Will it pick up the clickety-clack of my mechanical keyboard?

There is no noise cancelling on it
