Great price for a great product
For years I bought this from Indian Markets or Farmers Markets more than two hours from home. As we are traveling less for our shopping I have opted to try online purchasing. I found the Biryani Masala Seasoning Spice to be exactly the same as the blends at the markets: fresh, fragrant, and at an excellent price. Thank you.

Is that garlic I'm smelling and tasting?
The ingredients that are listed for this mix are exactly what good masala tea spice should be (though individual preferences for ratios will vary). However, upon opening the container, I immediately picked up a strong note of something decidedly savory, and the closest I can liken it to is garlic. None of the listed spices should have this kind of fragrance bordering on odor, not even when blended together. And, to be sure, I brewed a cup of black tea with it, in case steeping in hot water might make a difference, and it came out tasting exactly the way it smells out of the canister. It's very off-putting.Unfortunately, this item isn't eligible for return (which the seller doesn't mention in the item description, but this should ALWAYS be listed very prominently), so I'm out the money I spent on it (and I bought two, as the ingredients list made it sound perfect), since I can't imagine anything else for which I could use it, except maybe to season a roast. I'm nothing if not adventurous, so I might just give that a try. But, if you're looking to flavor tea with this stuff, I must caution against it. It will be a pretty pricey mistake if you find it as unpalatable as I do.

I'm in love. This ONION powder is so perfectly strong and tasty. Yum!
These reviews are all mixed together- too bad as it is kind of hard to figure out if anyone likes the onion powder. I went ahead with purchasing it, so I can say.. Oh my.. yes. This is EXACTLY what I was hoping for- a strong, pungent, tasty onion powder. I have had way too many, even organic that barely provide any flavor. Once you have a good onion powder it is so disappointing to have anything else. My last container from another company was good, and we used it up so quickly. I wasn't going to be back to that store in awhile and I knew I had to order some soon rather than do without. I decided to try this brand. I think I am biased toward Indian spices, and so I hoped that this onion powder would be really good. IT IS!! It is the best I have had yet!! It is well packaged- has a freshness/safety seal- I opened it up immediately upon arrival and the aroma was just gorgeous smelling. I took a little out to try, and was absolutely delighted on how much the flavor lit up my taste buds. As many seasonings I like to use, I go through a lot of onion powder. Something about a good onion powder is just so versatile and adds a special flavor. MMMmMmmMmMm.I purchased this in July 2019, with a best by date of January 2021. Plenty of time-- I'll likely have it used up within 6 months. or by end of week, haha

Spice Up Your Biryani Game
Picture this: a food-loving adventurer armed with a jar of Pride Of India's Indian Biryani Masala Seasoning Spice embarks on a quest to create the perfect biryani. Join me on this flavor-filled journey, filled with laughter, mishaps, and a few unforgettable moments.First Impressions:As I eagerly opened the packaging of Pride Of India's Biryani Masala, a delightful aroma filled the air. The medium-sized dual sifter jar was easy to handle and had an eye-catching label that screamed authenticity. It promised to elevate my vegetable and meat pilaf to new heights. With these high hopes, I couldn't wait to put it to the test. The Adventure Begins:I started my culinary expedition by following the recipe provided on the jar. The instructions were straightforward and easy to understand. As I measured out the recommended amount of seasoning, a burst of vibrant colors greeted my eyes. The blend of spices looked promising, and I couldn't help but feel a tinge of excitement.Into the Pot:With the masala in hand, I carefully added it to my layered vegetable and meat pilaf. The sifter jar allowed for precise sprinkling, ensuring an even distribution of flavors. As I stirred the dish, the aroma intensified, tantalizing my senses and making my mouth water. It was at this point that I couldn't help but feel like a master chef, ready to create a masterpiece. The Taste Test:The moment of truth arrived as I took my first bite. The flavors were robust, with a perfect balance of spices. The masala delivered a gentle heat, adding a subtle kick to each mouthful. The blend of spices was well-rounded, enhancing the overall taste of the biryani. However, I must admit, the flavors didn't quite reach the heights I had anticipated. It lacked the depth and complexity I had experienced with other biryani masalas.A Comedy of Errors:While the taste was satisfactory, my cooking journey didn't go entirely as planned. In the midst of my excitement, I accidentally added a bit too much masala to the dish, resulting in an unintentionally spicy biryani. It was a comedy of errors, with me fanning my mouth and my family laughing at my misadventure. However, it wasn't entirely the fault of the masala itself, but rather my own overzealousness in the kitchen.Versatility for Vegetarians and Vegans:One aspect I appreciated about Pride Of India's Biryani Masala is its suitability for vegetarians and vegans. It provided a fantastic opportunity to create flavorful plant-based biryanis, catering to a wider range of dietary preferences. The masala's ability to infuse vegetables with delicious spices was commendable, allowing me to experiment with various combinations.Packaging and Shelf Life:The medium-sized dual sifter jar was not only convenient to use but also kept the spices fresh for a considerable period. However, the jar's lid was a bit tricky to close tightly, which made me worry about potential spillage if not handled with care. Additionally, while the packaging claimed a long shelf life, I noticed a slight decrease in flavor potency after a few months. Conclusion:In my adventurous quest with Pride Of India's Indian Biryani Masala Seasoning Spice, I encountered highs and lows. Although the masala delivered on its promise to enhance the flavors of my biryani, it fell short of creating an exceptional culinary experience. The mishap with the spiciness
