Pac OS2GM32X Onstar Interface for 00-05 Cadillac to Add Aftermarket

First I got a radio harness for my 2001 Deville that has OnStar but no Bose system, and I could not get the radio to power on. Then I heard this was what I needed to get since I had to integrate the new radio with OnStar. Got this radio harness and the radio powered on. Only a few things changed but it gets you to upgrade your radio. The first thing to note is the door chime and OnStar speech is going to be coming from the blue box on the harness. Since you have only two speaker connections your radio will use all the speakers in the car but the front to back fade will be gone. ( front or middle will play music but nothing if you set the fade to the back). But then again you get to use all your speakers with your new radio and I'm fine with that. Get this if you have OnStar in your car. I don't know about the Bose system as I'm not sure if I have that as my head unit that came with the car doesn't say Bose.

Play u plug...the only wire u need to hook up is the red wire.i ran a 12 feet wire to the fuse box to the ING fuse one side leg on the fuse.....wire the speaker 🔊 wire and yellow wire consist and blue wire go to the alter market radio harness..

I have had this installed now for almost a month, and this thing has been flawless. I ordered this to go with the kit I purchased through Best Buy, and those guys installed it for me. Thus far, it's been great, and everything works as it should (all steering wheel controls, etc.). This along with a double DIN head unit makes this Cadillac stereo system actually sound great.....

This sort of worked for my 02 Deville. I say sort of because the Accessory red wire would not power on my radio. All of the yellow wires were hot and sent battery power as it should. I had to add a toggle switch between one of the extra yellow (hot) wires to compensate for the nonworking Accessory wire on this harness. Picked up the switch and extra wire from the local auto parts store. The speaker wires did not work but I simply ran speaker wire directly from the head unit to the speakers. I think it had something to do with the Bose Amplifier. This took me several attempts to get the stereo to work but saved me from cutting any of the in dash (factory) wiring. Also if you go with the BOSS unit like I did, connect the orange wire from this harness to the Parking brake wire coming from the unit to play DVD's at all times, instead of just when the parking brake are engaged. This is really over priced since it had to be rigged so much but didn’t want to go through the whole return ordeal.
