Sam's Birthmark

This was a perfect book for my 4 year old who has a port wine stain birthmark on his face just like Sam. He was able to bring the book to school and had the teacher read it to his whole class. Would definitely recommend this book to others. Cute story and adorable illustrations.

My son was born with a CMN (congenital melanocytic Nevus) on his face, so having a book that not only shows him that he isn’t alone, but also explains to the other children that everyone is special in their own way. I sent this to his teachers to read and we read it at home all the time. Thank you so much to the authors of this amazing book. Our son has significant birthmarks on his face. Sam’s birthmark was a great way for friends in his classroom to learn about him so he’s not asked about it constantly. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to share awareness on ways we’re different.

Our Doctor at Seattle Children’s Hospital recommended this to our 2 year-old. We bought it and love it. It’s a good teaching tool and helps our daughter describe her birthmark.
