Authoritative, fairly complete, somewhat dense for one without theological background
These charts offer an incredible quick-look amount of information. It's hard to imagine what moment in church history is missing. Some of the language is theologically dense, and it might be helpful if technical names and terms were clearly explained. On the other hand, to do so might make the resource unwieldy. On balance, a must-have for those interested in church history.

Delivers on expectations
I teach an adult Sunday School class, so I have several books/resources like this to help illustrate complex concepts or historic events. Since so many individuals lack knowledge of church history I have tried to weave perspectives from the past into current discussions. This Book of Charts is a convenient and valuable resource. What might improve this volume? I would propose that each page be perforated 1/2 inch from the binding. That might add to the expense, but it would certainly make removing the pages more convenient.

Charts
This is presented in a form that gives you a short but precise info on any given subject, putting the info chronologically. Like I am doing a character sketch on Augustine, it was not a lot of info but precise.I like the format because you can quickly get info without ploughing through lots of material. I have an exam at the end of this semester, this will be a valuable way to revise.

This book reveals much of the real truth about our present-days religious organizations.
This is a rare book indeed. It is the third in a series starting back around 1950, each edition essentially updates the former. I am an engineer/geologist, not a priest/minister, but this book really lays out the statistics that no other book that I know of does. If you are interested in the "truth" about our religious organizations now-a-days, this is the real stuff.

Great resource
This book alone isn't going to give you a thorough background in church history, but as a supplement to more thorough texts (like MacCulloch's Christianity: the First Three Thousand Years), it's excellent. It's perfect for quickly looking up information about specific figures or movements, and it definitely saved me on my church history exam. It's a book that I'm sure I'll use after I finish school too. Highly recommended.

A Must Have for Any Student of Church History
There is a lot of dates, people and events to learn regarding the history of the Christian church. This reference is invaluable in helping to keep it all straight. Organized very well, with a concise index and table of contents - it is a must have for researcher or casual study of this topic.

Great Overview
The author has done a yoeman's job in assembling and organizing church history by topic, period, etc. in chart form. It has been a great help in class preparation and has reminded me of other topics I need to discuss in a church history class.
