Works great! Unlike CLP has a smell that is Wife approved!
Been in the military for over 12 years and been shooting as young as I can remember. I've always enjoyed to smell of Hoppes and CLP products, as It turns out as i'm sure many of you also soon discover not many others enjoy the smell. But there wasn't any other good options out there till now, I got introduced to froglube when I was given a sample of it by a police officer at my local range. told him thanks and the sample tube was tossed in my range bag to be forgotten for the next year. this past month was at the range with an M1 garand that was giving me some cycling issues, went for my ever present squeeze bottle of CLP and came up dry! Was digging through trying to find another eye dropper bottle of CLP and came across the little white sample tube of Froglube he had given me. Thought what the hell, I'll give it a try, only other option was to pack up and head home. Opened the sample up and was immediately smelling a strong but pleasant mint smell, also noticed froglube isn't a liquid as much as a gel. applied it to the op-rod and was soon up and running. also saw that once the gel heated up it became a liquid and seeped into every nook in the receiver. Ended up working just as good as CLP could have. What really sold me on this produce was when I got home, my daughter (four year old) ran up to see me when I pulled in, when she gave me a hung she said I smelled nice like mint. A bit later when I was at my bench cleaning up wife came over and also comment on the smell, she though I had put up some kind of air fresher in my work area. I did some more research in froglube and found out its also nontoxic, which is a plus. I was always a bit worried about touching anything the kids or wife would handle after having my hands covered in CLP.Now on to this clamshell pack- The large toothpaste tube is filled with the mint gel and replaces CLP on the firearms, the spray bottle is a degreasing solvent for removing old CLP from the firearm before putting on the lube. (I've started using a diluted solution of this in my sonic cleaner and has made after range cleanup a snap!) Nylon tooth brush for scrubbing works great and any gun owner knows you cant have too many of these, but also its nice to have a clean one to only use with the froglube instead cross contaminating it with ones I already had that were covered in years of carbon build up.I've been using Froglube now for three months now and love in and think I will be for the for seeable future!-a tip, once you degrease your part down good and let it dry, put it in the sun or hit it with a hairdryer/heat gun, just enough to get it nice and warm, then apply the Froglube gel, it will turn to liquid instantly and soak in quick. Let cool down to normal then wipe down with the same rag you applied it originally with. Firearms now have a pleasant smell to them that is also now wife approved, unlike the old CLP!

Breakfree CLP cleans and lubricates better
So I have been using Ballistol for the last couple of years as an "eco-friendly" and body-friendly cleaner and lube thanks to watching too much youtube. But it smells too strongly and the smell is awful. But it has never failed me and always keeps my firearms in good shape. I got to reading, and got caught up in good reviews on Froglube. I even had a really good customer service experience with almost instantaneous email replies (uber great company in that regard). But, ultimately I am moving on. I used their degreaser to clean my newest pistol, then dried with a hairdryer, applied their "extreme" CLP. I let it sit, then wiped off the excess. After a week and after some shooting, I wiped it down, redid the process. Then out of sheer curiosity, I picked up a 4 dollar bottle of breakfree's CLP at wally world. I sprayed some CLP on the firearm, let it soak a little and then proceeded to watch the carbon and crud accumulate in the paper plate underneath the disassembled firearm. The cheap CLP literally lifted the black crud out and off of the firearm. Clearly the Froglube (and my own scrubbing) did nothing. But again, great customer service, but its not the product it advertises itself to be. The expensive Froglube cleaners really didn't do much, and the green gel of lube/protectant also didn't seem to make the gun any slicker. Supposedly the magic is in the next cleaning, but I didn't see that either. The new coatings on firearms nowadays already make it easy to wipe carbon and crud out.Pro-tip - if you're considering using Froglube, try to find a Pro shooter or major firearms manufacturer who uses or endorses the product. They are out there, but rare. Then look up Breakfree CLP or Slip 2000 and you'll quickly find pro shooters and companies who have either partnered with or endorse those product lines. Breakfree CLP is the standard that all of CLPs try to live up to, and some do exceed that standard in a non-toxic way, but FrogLube did not perform at that level for me; nor could I find a legitimate pro who endorses the product. I humbly admit I could be wrong, but I couldn't find the information or people. Now on to the next "eco-friendly", non-toxic, wonderlube that doesn't smell.

So far so good!
Just came in, and I just applied it to my Mossberg 500. This will just be my first impression.Let's deal with the solvent first. Easy enough to apply. Cut through the rem oil that I had on there nicely. Did a good job of getting the surface ready. The CLP is where the magic really happened. This particular package has the liquid CLP. I think the paste would be easier to work with. The liquid likes to make a mess. Though, if your station is well prepped you should be fine! I got a lot of crud off my parts between the solvent and CLP. And I would have said that my gun was "clean" before I started (reference the picture!). Very impressed with this stuff's cleaning ability. Now for lube/protectant. I wiped it on everything, and I mean EVERYTHING and then wiped it all off til everything was dry. Once I got it all back together I noticed a definite ease with racking. It all just seems to move more smoothly. The CLP didn't leave a residue on any parts. Also very impressed with its lubrication. On the outside, stock, etc...it seemed to clean pretty well too. Didn't get an crud off, but the surfaces feel smoother and gunkless..? We'll see how it stands up to firing and subsequent cleanings.Bottom line: the stuff is easy to work with, smells great and I don't mind using it inside my house. Your gun is a gonna smell a little minty afterward, may be a pro or con for you. I will head back here after I run some ammo through and update. So far, I love this stuff!

Best cleaner/lubricant out there.
I have been using Frog Lube for about 5 years now. It is by far the best cleaner/lubricant I have used. There is no harsh chemical smell and it gets the job done. It is extremely easy to use and you will be very satisfied.Stay away from all the other toxic cleaners and get this product.

Recommended for those starting out and just casually shoot and clean.
Pros: Comes with a brush, gentle on the hand solvent, the frog Lube paste in liquid forms, and a case. This was my starter for my first firearm.Cons: If you shoot and clean often the quantity in the bottle might not be enough for you.Overall: Recommended for those starting out and just casually shoot and clean.
