Fantastic piece of kit.
Used it to dig holes for fence posts. The ground was riddled with hardcore, bricks and rocks but with effort all holes were dug to their required depth. It is heavy but once I hit clay it's weight was enough for gravity to do most of the work.

... End " this post hole bar does a far better job than the normal round pointed ones
Due to its " Chisel End " this post hole bar does a far better job than the normal round pointed ones. I had an old fir tree stump which I couldnot shift with the old crowbar but the DIGPOST moved it in no time. Excellent bit of kit and highly recommended.

Super heavyweight Chisel - perfect for fence post holes
I knew I'd encounter tree roots [mostly my nieghbours :-( ], when installing new concrete fence posts, I was going down 3ft into mosty sandy soil. The chisel is too blunt for very thick roots of the type encountered near the surface (when a swaw or axe work best) but is great for the thinner roots (say 1cm thick) encountered a couple of feet down and more. The post chisel deals with these very easily. Had I encountered larger roots low down I'd probably have sharpened the chisel but it wasn't necessary. It was certainly worth the investment for the dozen 9ft fence post installed.

Great for making fence post holes where bush / shrub roots are around
This tool is great for making fence post holes, especially where roots of bushes & shrubs are likely to be a problem.I would use a standard pointy one for breaking through stones and concrete, rather than this one, but at least you can simply re-sharpen the chisel end using an angle grinder if you do blunten/abuse it...Nice and long, and a good handy weight to it, to be useful at penetrating dry clay soil.

Faithfull DIGPOST Post Hole Bar with Chisel End 17Lb 60-inch x 1-inch
This has to be the simplest tool yet my favourite in the garden simply because it has saved so much time.We needed something to create relatively narrow but deep holes to insert poles for a fruit cage and this was perfect. Also used it to create holes for round fence posts for stock proof fencing. Had previoulsy used an auger which was slow going and generally ended up with a hole too wide for the post. This bar soleved that problem and sliced through our hard and stone filled soil. You do need a bit of strength to use it, but it is not tiring like a manual auger.Highly highly recommended!!!!

Would have struggled to complete job without this
did a really good job of breaking up and digging in soil with a lot of slate in it.Would get 5 stars if it had a rubberised grip as shaft is narrow
