I don't often take the time to write product reviews, but I was so pleasantly surprised with this product's performance that I felt the need to let others know. I needed a close-focus monocular for examining optical surfaces under low-light conditions at just a few feet. I was skeptical when I ordered this- I've had a few other similar monoculars, and they performed absolutely abysmally- poor image sharpness in the center of the field of view, and very rapidly degrading image sharpness towards the edge of the field of view, accompanied by too much magnification. This one was a very pleasant surprise, and produced a nice sharp image from one edge of the field of view to the other. It focuses sharply, a distinct "snap" consistent with good optics, at all distances from 10" to infinity. At 4X, the image is very steady, and there's just enough aperture to make 4X image bright enough to function nicely under normal rool lighting. It's also nice that lens caps for both ends are provided, so it can be stuck in a pocket without it's pouch. The little pouch has a belt loop. While I only ever intended to use this monocular for the task mentioned above, it works so well that I'm sure I'll be using it out doors on walks (if I'm not already bringing something bigger...).

Yes good quality but it does not do what it's advertised to do - wide-angle viewing. Could never be used for viewing TV as advertised - otherwise fine.

Just a little heavier than what I'm used to. Super good build. Extremely clear! The only thing I don't like about it is the rubber eye piece is set deep around the lens makes it more difficult to clean. Excellent price much cheaper than the Walters brand and Maxi AIDS website. Don't like the cord too short and flimsy but that's easily replaced.

I have used similar devices manufactirwd by other companies. Compared to those devices, this one looks cheap. The process amazingly low. I haven't used it much because I still have devices from other companies. I think it is worth trying.
