Perfect for my day hikes
I couldn't be more pleased with this backpack. I've used it in all the Utah national parks this spring as well as Big Bend and my usual hikes in Texas. There are the right amount and size of compartments to organize things and I love the bungee cord on the outside to hold extra things like a jacket that wouldn't fit inside. I've attached my hiking sticks, the water bottle holders work even when I bend down, attached my camera so I won't drop it, and the backpack is very comfortable. One more feature I love is the chest strap is adjustable so you can place it where it works for your body. I had to return a backpack that hit me in an uncomfortable place on the bust. I always put my keys in a waist pocket and I can even fit my phone in a waist pocket. Others have said they couldn't access those pockets while hiking but I can. The only con I can think of is it may not be big enough for some people's day hikes but I can fit everything I want to take in it and wouldn't want a larger one.

Well made, versatile small pack
Very well made. Thoughtful, versatile, multifunctional design, including space for a small hydration pack. Adequate size for a day trip/hike. The objective was to get a small comfortable pack that would be satisfactory for daily use, between functions, hiking, biking, or as a personal bag on a plane. The S/M fills the bill. The side pockets nicely accommodate short and tall cycling type water bottles. The Tourmaline is a deep rich color. Sizing: I ordered the S/M and was sent the XS/S. Had to reorder S/M from another source, because the Amazon source could not supply the S/M, as ordered. The XS/S is very short, not for long waisted or full figured women. The chest strap choked me and the waist strap was mid belly. The S/M fits my ample, 5'5 frame quite comfortably, with strap adjustment room to spare.

Good but small
I wanted a light pack for day hiking. It is very small. When I got it I thought about sending back but I tried it this weekend and I'll keep it. In addition to my essentials, when I took off my light hoodie and stuffed it in, it was pretty much at capacity. It is very comfortable and very adjustable. It is probably best for a quite petite woman (I am 5'7" and got the M since there is no large). I like the side pockets but I'd hoped my phone would fit there, but no for an iPhone 6 anyway. My only issue is the size but I probably should have gotten the tempest 20 for the size flexibility. This one will force me to go light anyway!

Quality Check!
Ordered the backpack and it arrived with a faulty zipper. Since it was a gift, I ordered a second one and directly shipped it, planning to process a return on the first backpack. The second one arrived with the *same zipper damage*. Someone is selling a bad batch of these.

I love how it has a women's fit
I wish Osprey made this in a M/L. I love how it has a women's fit. I'm 5'5", but I have a 20" torso and the S/M was too small. The hip support was floating about 2" above my hips. I have to return this and order the men's Talon 11. And those only come in boy colors.

Perfect for day hike minimalist
Perfect for putting my Canon Rebel and it's long lens in for a hike, along with a light jacket and snacks. Small inside, but really this is for a day hike or romp around town for someone who has minimal "baggage" to tote around. Side pockets do hold my 32 oz Contigo bottle no problem, and the 2 small pockets (one inner, one outer) serve to protect sunglasses, wallet and phone. VERY comfy to wear, doesn't stick to my body because of the air flow vents and enough padding to not hurt my shoulders.. Will fit a hydration pack, although I haven't purchased one for it yet, so unsure how big it is or if it will restrict the storage capacity further. The color is magical!

Great pack!
I use this backpack for hiking and multipitch trad climbing. The hip belt is great so that the pack doesn't swing while climbing. I can also keep my phone, cliff bar, and topo in the hip pockets for easy access while at the belay stations. I don't really like to take the pack off while climbing (don't want to drop it) so it's important to have access to water and snacks without taking the pack off.I really like the mesh pocket in the strap of the backpack and use it for a small walkie talkie. It's perfect because it's close enough to my mouth that I can just squeeze the talk button and talk.My only wish is that my climbing helmet was compatible with the helmet holder. Also, for sizing- I'm 5'1 and felt that the XS was too short for my torso. I ended up getting the S.
