Smells Like A Camp Fire
I was looking for a fragrance that smelled like smoke and/or a campfire. I tried quiet a few including some very high end ones but Imaginary Author's delivered with A City on Fire. I used it as my fall and winter fragrance and get a lot of compliments. Additionally their Amazon store has great customer service. One of my orders from the got returned to sender. I sent them the tracking number showing it had been delivered back to them and they reimbursed my money immediately. Great product and helpful company!

Excellent scent with time for it to develop
Wow this is not for the faint of heart! When initially applied it is a bit overpowering. I'd say one spritz is sufficient. But after a little while, the scent mellows and it is absolutely divine. Love this. Only four stars for the initial power of the scent that might knock you off your feet if you are caught unawares, but also one that that is interesting and different. Apply in advance to let it mellow for when you need it and it's perfect!

True Smokey Allure
Smells Amazing! I have been longing for a scent that captures memories and a feeling instead of just smelling "nice". It may not be for everyone because it truly does smell smokey, not just hints of smoke. My fiance and I both love it but we are campers and love the smell of a campfire. The nice thing too, it comes in a unique box and they have provided different samples in case you might want to try another scent by them. To me, definitely worth the price.

Not as smoky as a I expected. Much sweeter than I expected.
I've been researching A City on Fire for a while and all I've been hearing about it is how overwhelming the smokiness is on the nose and how it mellows out pretty quickly. I love smoke-forward fragrances so I decided to try A City on Fire. The first thing that hit my nose was unfortunately not smoke. It smelled more like sweet, resinous licorice.I love the smell of the woods and a nice wood fire. Oftentimes I will have a casual campfire in my front yard burning woods such as: oak, hickory, and maple. There is nothing in A City on Fire that compares to a real smoky fire.I also had difficulty finding that burnt match scent through all the sweetness. Whatever smokiness in the fragrance mellows out much quicker than the sweetness leaving a mild, one-dimensional sweetness that could be mistaken for an odd medicinal/soapy residue.Maybe I just had a defective bottle?

Probably will be your favorite or least favorite frag.
Intoxicating, perfection, long performance (on me). Gourmand Smokey almost like kitchen or campfire smoke. Blind buying can be kinda dumb, but if you’re feeling lazy, this seems like a good candidate for a blind buy.

Great customer service and unique scents
Imaginary Authors makes unique scents that are hard to find anywhere else. This perfume smells like a beautiful fireplace. It's perfect for folks who like spicy and smoky fragrances. They also send you little samples with each order so you can try more of their scents. With my full size order, I received a sample of Slow Explosions and Cape Heartache. Both are great! The shipping and customer service were fast and professional.

Smells Like a Burned Match
Smells like a burned match wafting through rickety metal fire escapes, while the sun goes down on a seedy Brooklyn apartment. I am really fond of fiery scents. This one is a rare non-gourmand version of that. It’s sharp and dries down true. Good staying power.
