To LucMe
I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to read my work. I am very humbled that anyone actually gave me a look. I totally agree that the book is (very) long. At first, I thought about releasing this novel as a two or three book series but I let it all hangout because, this writing thing was a one-shot deal for me. Now that I've gotten feedback on this one, I feel confident enough to start releasing some of the numerous novels that I've written through the years. Believe me; none of them are anywhere as long as YMR. Once again, thank you for your review and hopefully, I will take heed and become a better writer.

Well crafted crime novel. Constant page turner.
I throughly enjoyed this novel. Although weighing in at a hefty 700-plus pages, the book flew by. Being a native of Fairfield County, I also appreciated all the local places, towns and street names. I felt like I was reading a roller coaster account of someone's life. Well written, well crafted and would totally recommend. Well done!

Gritty and Intense!
This book paints a moving and realistic tale encompassing the Great Migration as described in "Warmth of Other Suns" but takes the narration in a different direction. The lure of easy money and the flash of the good life became too enticing for many of the children of those hardworking migrants and is exquisitely detailed in this book. The carnage wrought by the deadly crack epidemic of the 80's and 90's is also detailed in devastating detail. The book is definitely a page turner and was hard to put down. The book is written in a style that assumes an audience that is familiar to the city where it takes place and offers more than a few (but easily skimmed over) overly detailed place and event descriptions, making for a hefty 700+ pages. But the story is compelling and can at times find one rooting for the bad guy. My advice to Mr. Elliot would be to lower your price and go for the volume... Your book has the potential to touch a wide audience and even though I'd heard excited raving about the book... It was from people who were passing around copies. The paperback price was too high. I waited until the Kindle edition came out and still hesitated. It's not that the book isn't worth the $9.99... But the Kindle world is full of sub-$6 great reads! This novel deserves to be read by a wide range of readers. For a wide range of reasons.Edited down to less than 500 pages and with a lowered price... A second edition is a sure fire national best seller.
