Fun & quick read
It was an exciting take on the mystery of Oak Island, some good action! I enjoyed this treasure hunt story.

Almost Indy
I've been wanting to scratch my Indiana Jones itch leading up to the release of the new movie and picked this up because the cover art looked pretty cool to me. Thankfully, this book delivered. There's Nazis, intrigue, codes and puzzles, tons of action, all the stuff you want. The thing that really made this hit home for me though, is the characters. Our main characters aren't clones of Indy and Marion Ravenwood. Flint McQuaid, our hero is a bit of a dandy. He's a lady's man who wears fancy shoes out into the field and worries about his hair getting mussed, but he's always brilliant and gets tough when he needs to. His partner is a pulp fiction writer forging her own path in 1930's Hollywood.Speaking of the period, there's a lot of 1930's detail and slang so the story feels well-researched and lived in.Combine all of this with some witty humor and even some light horror elements at the end, and the book really transcends the typical action/adventure story while still being faithful to the genre. You can tell the book was written by a fan.
