10mm Thick - Wool Heat Insulation Felt Carpet Underlay - 42oz

We have used on our walls during our rebuild and super happy with it. Sturdy and soft.It would be great to know the wool content of it

This underlay is fab! It is easy to lay although I recommend a really sturdy, sharp pair of scissors to cut it. It is very insulating. The young carpet fitter called it "old school" his Dad said it was the best. I got it as I thought it was more environmentally better. Customer service was brilliant.The only negative is that when first laid it has a scent as if it has come straight from the sheep. This does go and I would recommend this product.

Excellent quality and easy to lay. Provides great heat and noise insulation. Will buy again when I do the rest of the carpeting in the house.

Roll arrived earlier than expected, which was great, informed at every stage of delivery. Underlay was easy to lay, used a sharp pair pf kitchen scissors to cut it, without any problems. Lovely quality and has make the rug feel luxurious under foot. Would definitely buy it again

easy to lay but cut with either very sharp knife or good scissors , makes finished carpet feel more luxurious and bouncy. Yep smells of sheepshed when first laid but once carpet laid on top the smell is masked by new carpet smell. also helps with sound deadening

I know it's made of wool but when layed it smelt strongly of sheep, I left it for three days and the smell only got worse. The wool was dark grey with bits of blue nothing like the picture- there was still bits of hay in the underlay which made me think along with the smell and colour that the wool was not washed and processed before being made into underlay. I emailed the company and they said it was the oils in the wool and the smell would dispate, considering the smell only became stronger after three days I couldn't risk having the carpet layed on top so I took the underlay up. The floorboards smelled for another two days before the carpet fitter came, I spayed some perfume on the floor to mask the smell. Anyway I got some foam underlay instead. I emailed the company again to explain the situation and they did give me a full refund. Such a shame as wool is fire retardant and environmentally friendly. I did get a wool carpet which did not smell funnily enough. If you do buy and you want to cut you will need a new pair of fabric scissors and your of sharp blade for your Stanley knife as it takes ages to cut through.

Great underlay for the price, feels super soft underfoot compared to others.Only criticism is it's quite difficult to cut neatly compared to foam backed underlay.

Delivered on time very pleased. Very good quality at such a good low price. Very easy to lay and cut with a stout pair of scissors ( I'm in my 50's and had no problems) will definitely buy more for the stairs when I get to that point. Can't wait for my carpet to be laid it will feel so soft underfoot.Though being 10mm thick, plus carpet may need hubby to trim bottom of door but well worth it.
