don't buy any of these, steer clear!
I've bought this one and the other one that had a golden retriever puppy on it. Steer clear of all these Junior pbn kits. THEY SUCK! You get about 6-8 paint pots. The paint is thick. The paint pots are not full enough. The print on the design is so dark, that the paint won't even cover over it, not even with the darkest color. I have had to use better quality acrylic paints to cover over the pre-printed design and #'s.The picture does not come out like the photo displayed on this page. I have tried dabbling in other mediums to try and get it to that point - such as soft pastels and oil pastels, but have not been too successful as nothing covers over the dark print.I love the PBN sets by the other brand names such as Plaid, Reeves, Dimensions, Bucilla, etc... but these above Junior sets of pbn just plain suck.If i was you, and you want to buy a pbn for your kid or if it's for yourself, do yourself a favor and do not buy these. Go get the adult set of the brands i mentioned above - the adult pbn's have way better pics to paint, way more challenging and fun, and most importantly - if you paint them correctly - the pic actually comes out like the one on the box. Even if you deviate and decide to do different colors, your pic still comes out looking good on the adult sets, unless you're heavy handed on the brush and applying too much pressure, then it may not come out just right, but if you know what you're doing, the adult sets are the ones for you.Stay away from the junior sets. They're HORRIBLE!

terrible paint!
The paint was so thin, that I had to coat even the dark colors four times. Also the orange striped tabby looks like an orange striped tabby on the box, but the orange that came with the kit was neon orange. Colors were all off. I will never buy from this company again. I have used dimensions paint by number and they are always good, true color and good paint. I picked this kitty one by Royal and Langnickel because I was painting it for my daughter and the kittens looked like hers. I ended up throwing the whole thing away after about 6 hours of trying to compensate for the paint.

Waste of time
It came out NOTHING like the picture. The lines were so dark they were impossible to cover. Mixing colors was a mess because I could never get the tint the picture showed. My talent or lack there of aside, the colors just didn't match the picture.

Don't waste your money
Got this for my 9 year old. She was very frustrated and gave up after working on it for an hour. I worked on it for a while, I loved PBN when I was a kid. This kit is a POS. You have to do a lot of mixing of colors, up to 3, the colors seem off. The kitten in the picture is Nemo orange...doesn't look anything like box. Most mixes call for too much black, you have to use white in a lot of mixes and they don't give you enough. Doesn't cover print, tried multiple coats and you can still see lines and numbers through everything but the black and dark brown.

big disappointment
I was embarrassed that this was the gift I bought my granddaughter. When she was done, there was not paint left over except red, and the painting looked like she used water colors to paint. The lines and numbers were clear. My son said only the red was at all thick. Also, child has to mix some of the colors himself. Bad choice. The only reason I gave it 1 star was because the picture was cute.

Didn't hate it but won't buy again.
I liked that i could read the numbers. I disliked that you have to combine paints ... Sometimes three. The containers of paint are way too small especially for mixing.

Cheaply packaged
I ordered 2 of these for sisters. One came perfect, the other was missing 2 of the paint colors and there was no paint brush. Makes my gifts a flop for those sisters.

Not as good as needleworks
But still great. I haven't finished mine yet but it's so much fun. Not as much paint as needleworks but that's OK it still works. You need to buy a smaller paintbrush. The difficulty is high and for advanced painters.Edit : I finished it but it doesn't look like the picture. Also people say it's hard... That's the point! It's an adult paint kit

Relaxing easy activity extra printed copy is very useful
This was a second purchase I’ve recently returned to painting and find it relaxing. I wanted something to get me back into painting without having to sketch first and paint by numbers works for me as a ‘warm up’. Only downside is sometimes the paints dry up a little or the hinges on the pots snap with use so chance to buy empty replacement pots to save unused paint in would be good.

Not really child friendly
As a paint by numbers for children there is ALOT of mixing colours some even 3 different colours! My daughter gets bored very quickly and with something like this she doesn’t want to complete. I don’t blame her to be honest I wouldn’t either. It’s a nice design just not child friendly or clear
