Bahco WS15 Splitting Wedge WS 9-Inch (52.9oz)

Using it to split down off tree stumps. Tried everything else. Works a treat.

Bought as a present, not been used yet but appears well made, should do the job intended

Was on the fence about getting this as I needed it to split some green logs for carving and wasn't sure if it would damage them. Results will probably vary depending upon the wood type, but has been good for me. Splits well. Much easier than using the axe and wooden beater I was using before.Also tried it on some old dried, hard, knotty logs I had not been able to split before and handled them no trouble. Haven't had issues with getting stuck in the wood which I did with the axe. Glad I got it.

Worked surprisingly well. It's very heavy and made light work of the logs I was splitting when used along with my small lump hammer. A good alternative to buying an expensive axe if you're not going to be doing much log splitting. Also small enough to be kept in any tool box, unlike a large axe.

This is a really heavy wedge as you would expect, and nice and sharp. Seems to work OK on the occasional log that needs splitting down a bit further. I wouldn't use it on a whole large log for splitting, that would need an axe, but if you use it correctly with a good weight lump hammer on a proper flat log as a base it did the job.

Could have been better with a slightly more wedge angle . Soft yes but I used a large copper mallet to strike them home with so I doubt I’ll have issues with mushroomed heads

I bought this thinking it would enable me to split difficult lumps of wood for the woodstore. I have a manual splitter for the easy, even rounds. This is a good quality item but it takes a lot of hits for it to split tricky wood (odd shapes, with branches etc). Guess my expectation was it was going to perform miracles with one or two hits. Still, that doesn't detract from a great product.

Does what it need to cant really complain although wish they had taken the care to make sure the steel was a bit harder.Overall not the worst one I have used but also not the best.Could have been a bit heavier.Would I buy it again: Probably not.
