Greenes Fence Best Value Cedar Raised Garden Bed, 4' x 4' x 7" - Made in USA with North American Cedar

I wanted a contained and raised bed that wouldn't be a permanent structure. This was a perfect solution for me. Very easy to assemble, however a couple of pieces didn't fit exactly into the slots. I didn't need as many as I received, so it worked ok for me. If I had needed them all, I'm sure I could have sanded the "too tight" fits to make it work. I've had two in place for 3 years and they are holding up great, no signs of deterioration or degradation. Sits right on the ground, no digging, the dirt holds it in place. Note that the dirt will settle after a few years - so if you are planting perennials make sure the dirt is pretty high to start.

It fits purpose it was made for however Planks are poorly made and I was very fearful they would break when putting the bed together. I don’t think it will last more than 1 season

I have five raised beds this size with the other four being from another company. Those other four were a pain to get together, and the posts for two of them kept splitting so that I had to repair them with finishing nails and wood glue. This one looked a bit rough right out of the package, but it went together without tools, and I have had no trouble with splitting. Further, the slots for the other four were poorly cut while the slots and grooves for this one fit perfectly. I will be getting five more for the rest of my garden next spring, and they will be this brand. And hopefully, they will be from this company. Their shipping was very fast, and the boards were very well packed.

Just got my planter box delivered today... I really appreciate how fast it shipped. I put it together in my living room to make sure all the pieces were present and fit together before I brought it up to my rooftop. I'm so excited by how easy it is to put together. It took just a couple minutes to assemble. I am looking forward to receiving my next order of planter boxes now that I know I like the product. I will be connecting multiple to create long rows of planter boxes. Thanks Greenes Fence!!!

This was super easy to put together and the value for the money is good overall. I think my only critique would be some of the boards aren’t completely straight and I’m weird about things being straight. I did notice that the middle of the box is also being pushed out slightly. I don’t know if I just put too much dirt or if I should have secured it to the ground in someway. Overall this will work for what I need.

Agreeably relatively easy to assemble with a rubber mallet, the cedar bed wood is quite soft and flimsy. The wood cuts were ragged in several instances and had to be trimmed with a knife. Worse, two of the precut legs arrived broken in pieces inside the box. An overnight fix with Gorilla Glue carefully applied resolved the problem, but made the capping of the posts problematic with inserting screws into the newly glued together posts. Even the posts which were not broken on arrival have visible cracks before assembly. As for the material itself, the wood definitely has no fragrance of cedar, the box once assembled is rather precarious, and there are serious qualms about it being able to withstand the weight of soil required to fill it. As for the design, the sides would have been better to consist of four boards rather than the three for depth and once assembled, the box itself needs a stake driven into the ground outside the posts to forestall the joints being sprung by the planting soil. Guys, I really wanted to like this as an upgrade to the boxes I have already built for our garden. I appreciate the labor in notching and prefitting the design. I really do. I only wish I felt better about the quality of material and flimsiness of design. Dave Horton

This is just good, not bad not great, just good. I say this because it was lightweight, low cost, fast shipping, but some of the wood was warped and the tabs used to assemble them would break when assembling some of the sections. Since I am just filling it with dirt and plants this was not an issue big enough to warrant trying to get the boards replaced. If you are going to style points you might want to look at more expensive options.So far we have 5 water melons and tons of Okra and Cherry Tomatoes!

We ordered 2 of these beds (4, 4x4 boxes). They arrived earlier than projected time. Both of them were in a box. We assembled them couple of days ago. They were very easy to assemble. It took my husband and I less than 10 minutes to assemble a set (2 4x4 boxes). I like that they are 10.5 inches tall. The wood for the sides is not very sturdy. Previously, I had purchased similar products from Home Depot. They also had the same problem.
