Out of the package these batteries were just as good as the newer 6A Makita batteries I have. I have used these batteries for 3months now on a Makita blower, chainsaw and trimmer. I currently can not tell any differences between the batteries except the label. Since I really do not have a way to test both brands of batteries with a constant load on the batteries, it is a judgement call on my part when I say I can not tell the difference. As for which battery brand will last the longest it is to early to tell but after 3 months I can not detect any difference in their performance. The price difference between the brands is what makes these batteries the best value after 3 months of usage

It takes a charge, fits the tools, and works.I got this to get some more run time out of my track saw. It's a little bulky, and you have to remove the accessory wing nut. But I'm good with that. If you do the same, make sure you get 2 batteries.I'll update my rating to 5 if it works out in the long run.Probably best for a leaf blower or something like that.

This is a very large (twice as large as a typical 5ah battery) battery compatible with the Makita 18v LXT system.The battery claims to be 12.0ah, which is twice the capacity of Makita's own 6.0ah battery! This is accomplished by using 20 battery cells, instead of the typical 10.The battery has a BMS and temperature sensor (as expected) and works well with my Makita charger as well as all the Makita tools I have tried it on (vacuum, drill, flashlight, etc.) Fit and finish is excellent.Due to its size (how tall the battery is), this may not be a good choice for tools that you don't have much room to maneuver, but for situations where size is not an issue, this could be a time saver, as you shouldn't have to change the battery nearly as often.Time will tell how durable the battery is, but it appears to be a great option where longer run time is needed and size is not an issue.

I have many Makita devices and batteries. This is the largest Makita-compatible battery I have ever seen. I've been using it with a power-hungry vacuum and inverter and can find no fault with it after about a dozen charge/discharge cycles. It fits my Makita devices as it should.It is heavy. It weighs 2lb 6 oz and takes up some space.If you have a use for an extra large capacity battery and can tolerate the extra size and weight, this is a good item to get.

What it is: 12Ah 18V Lithium Ion battery pack for Makita 18V tools and Makita 18V battery chargers. Includes instructions.Why I like it: This battery pack provides a lot more run time and power for Makita 18V tools, especially if they use single batteries. I’ve used this with my brushless string trimmer, oscillating tool, impact driver, and reciprocating saw with great success. The downside to such a large pack is it does take longer to charge. It does add substantial weight to the tool—for the string trimmer, it balances nicely. I use my reciprocating saw with a pruning blade and my hedge trimmer both for yard work, and the run time is extensive. The reliability of any battery tool kit is the quality of the battery packs—I’ll update my review after long-term testing.

It works good and lasts longer than 5.0 Ah 18V original Makita battery.It is taking much longer to recharge and it needs to be disconnected from the charger and connected again to be fully charged.

Fits my drill perfectly

I ordered this battery for use with my workshop tools; it has a Makita standard interface and delivers 12.0 Ah capacity, double most batteries' 6.0 Ah nominal capacity for a fractional cost increase. The battery arrived partially charged but topped up in 45 minutes on a (not included) Makita standard charger; the battery has a built-in 4 LED charge indicator. This battery is taller (see attached photo) and heavier than Makita standard batteries, but the extra size and weight don't interfere with tool operation. And this battery will be most useful during AC power outages, providing double the service on my (ASIN B0B7XNWSFY not included) battery-powered AC inverter.
