Excellent Device for Less Phone Fixation
Fantastic for someone looking to keep access to essential apps (banking, work apps, etc) but avoiding clutter and phone overuse. I use verizon which it said would not work but figured I would try it out and it works perfectly fine. Very sturdy as I work in a busy environment and have dropped it a few times. Excellent battery life and very simple to learn the functions of, been having a lot of fun learning how to type quickly with T9, but there are options for touchscreen keyboards. For the price, it can't be beat and I would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from typical smartphones but needing the functionality of one.

Good but has big down fall
My husband loves everything about it other then when his phone dies and he plugs it back in the phone will not receive text until he takes the back off and take the sim out and puts it back in

Easy, simple, durable
Bought this for my elderly dad with memory issues. Its heavy, but easy for him to use. It does have a touch screen which is nice.

A great step away from smartphone addiction — not perfect, but absolutely worth it
In 2023, I made the decision to get rid of my smartphone. I sold my latest-model Samsung, and with the money, bought a nikon camera and this flip phone. After a lot of research, I landed on the CAT S22. It’s not a true “dumb phone,” but it’s dumb enough — just enough to break the cycle of doomscrolling and mindless app use, while still giving me the basic functionality I need. Why I chose this phone — and why I’m glad I did: I needed something that could still run a few essential apps — Google Maps, mobile banking, audiobooks, even the daycare pickup app for my nephew. The CAT S22 can download most apps (though some don’t work well on the small screen), and that balance has been perfect for me. What I love: -My brain is quieter. Truly. Moving to this simpler phone has made a noticeable difference in my mental clarity and overall peace. No more being sucked into social media. No more wasted hours scrolling. -It does what I need. I can text (I use a different keyboard with swype + voice input), call, listen to audiobooks, check maps, and run a few key apps. -Great speakers. Calls are clear, and I can play music or audiobooks and hear them just fine. -Good battery life. A full charge lasts a day or two, and I love that the battery is removable — I brought a spare on a camping trip and just swapped it out. -Strong service. I get the same level of signal and reception as my husband’s high-end smartphone. -The flip phone vibe is fun. Honestly, people think I’m some kind of secret agent when I snap it shut. That alone adds a little joy to the day. Downsides — and why I still stick with it: -Durability is iffy. I’ve gone through three of these phones. Thankfully, I bought the insurance plan, and each time the hinge broke (from dropping it), they replaced it. The flip top just isn’t as sturdy as I hoped, so this phone is not for the super clumsy (guilty). -The camera is awful. Potato quality. Don’t plan on using this for pictures. I use a separate camera for that now and I’m much happier with the results. -Small screen = limited app functionality. Some apps just won’t run or display properly — which is actually kind of the point. I didn’t want something addictive, just something functional. -No headphone jack. I use Bluetooth when needed, but it’s worth noting for anyone who still relies on wired headphones. Bottom line: If you're looking to simplify your digital life, stay off social media, and break free from the smartphone trap — without giving up all modern function — the CAT S22 is a great in-between. It’s not perfect, but it’s exactly what I needed to reset my tech habits, stay connected, and live a little more intentionally.

Built To Take It
I've own a few alleged "rugged" flip phones and this one outshines them all. From the moment you unbox it, you'll be struck by its heft. I've read review about people "downgrading" from smart phones so as to use their phones less with this product. I am just the opposite and just about anything you can do on a smart phone you can do on this phone, as well. The internet is a breeze on this phone, but of course the screen is smaller. I've also had it slide completely off a forklift and it didn't suffer even a scratch when it hit the cement. It comes with a lot of bells and whistles and is water-proof. I also keep it in low power mode (which doesn't affect performance) and it will last a day or more (depending on usage). It is also equipped with wifi and thus when using THAT, you aren't using your own data or minutes . A great little workhorse that has excellent sound and extensively VERY fast internet speed. I love this phone.

Know WHAT this is before ordering
On the surface, this phone looks like it would check all of the boxes for a digital detox lifestyle. For the most part - it does. Solidly built, water resistant, and it would appear to be straightforward - but is it? After using for 2 days, I found the phone to be more of a distraction and a detriment then a positive experience. It gives you just enough Android to make you feel that you're getting a complete package, but good luck if you try plugging it into your car - there's no Android auto and that is a huge deal-breaker for me. Additionally, even with the volume turned all the way up, the ringtones are very quiet and easily overlooked. The phone isn't just slow - it's painfully slow. Good luck trying to load anything with it as it takes forever to process. Then there's the issue with storage. Nowhere does it say "hey, you should probably consider getting an SD card before transferring your stuff." You really can't do that because you have to set the phone up first before you can activate storage on the SD card. This means you either screw up your transfer process, or have to omit many items. All in all, if you are looking for a very simple phone - this might be a place to start, but day in and day out use is very frustrating. You can't do everything from the keyboard, so you have to use the touch screen or voice to text. If you know your limitations, I think it could be a good phone for digital detox lifestyle, but don't count on using a day in and day out without running into several frustrations. It's a shame, because I had really high hopes for it.

Not sure why people are saying this phone only works in US? Was worried by a few reviews saying their UK/Australian/etc. network wasn’t compatible with this phone, but took the risk anyway. Received in a couple weeks and was able to put Irish SIM card (3) in no bother! Phone works perfect. Great buy

Great phone second only to the alt mive style folder 2. Does almost everything I need the only thing it's missing is NFC and long battery life but all you have to do is carry your cards and bring a portable charger. Recommend looking up guides for customisation to make this thing your treasure.

Purchased to stop using my iPhone, and wanted a ‘dumber’ phone to reduce my screen time. Unfortunately, Item arrives locked to American network, unable to use with my SIM card in the UK

Didn't work with any sims. I tried Optus and Telstra, both failed to be detected. Don't buy if in Australia.

Perfect phone for what I need, I am in the UK and my SIM card is with three. I have had no problems with signal or service. Bluetooth , WiFi and hot spotting all work , very pleased with this device.
