HELPFUL WHEN TRAVELING
Suffice to say that I have a need for purified water for taking some medicine. When traveling, I’d get some distilled water and haul it along. I decided that a micro-filtration bottle would be the less onerous solution. After reading other reviews, I decided on this because of its compact size and flexibility. It seems to have worked fine. I really just need to filter tap water so the process is pretty simple. For my needs, this has worked well. Fill it up, squeeze the silicone bag, catch the filtered water. I drain the unit per instructions, usually propping the bag open so it can dry. It’s easy to stuff out of the way in my suitcase. One thing to remember is that this is a microfilter and will take out microscope organisms, BUT it is not going to remove hardness in the water if that’s important to you.

Jammed during first use, seller quickly replaced defective bottle
Update: seller sent me a new filter and it works as expected so far. It’s possible I just recieved a dud. Will update further once I get to test it out in the high country.I was pretty excited about this bottle upon receiving it, good size/material and folds down nicely. Unfortunately I tested it out on my sink at home and as I squeezed it out, it jammed up solid. I removed the top and filter to what was going on and the mouth of the filter is like a hard plastic, not sure how any water got through it in the first place. I will be sending this back and purchasing a different portable filter.

Not 42mm Threading
This looks like a Katadyn BeFree, but it's not compatible w/ the 42mm threading of a BeFree bag nor other HydraPak 42mm Seeker bottles. Like the filter shell is too thick to even go into a HydraPak opening. The filter part does pop-out for easy replacement. There are 2 o-rings to form the seal so that should work out. I think I'm keeping it for an earthquake/disaster emergency bag. It can at least work as a first filter just in case there's silt in the water.

Great Filter for the Price
Bottle is sturdy but still rolls up small and travels well. Filter is easy to use and not much force is required to squeeze the water out through the filter. Only complaint is that it's nearly impossible to twist the nozzle off of the bottle part without untwisting it from the filter which increases the risk of unfiltered water getting through the nozzle.

Good but not great.
The difference between good and great is always in the details. This could be a great product but for some production issues. For example, I nearly had to destroy the unit just to remove the overly tightened filter head from the bag. Also, the flip cap should stay attached.
