Purchased whole set form Amazon. Better than expected!
I have been searching for a shower set for my master bathroom. All the brands looks so nice in the pictures and I have no idea where to start. I went to a local showroom and the sales person put together a list of items based on my need. The brand quoted was Hansgrohe and I got a list of all the parts I need to complete the shower system, and it was super expensive. It was around $1400 for thermostatic system with rainshower head and a hand-held shower.I did more researches on Amazon and found out that Amazon is a lot cheaper but also learned that majority of the parts are made out of plastic coated with chrome, except the handles and valves (i.e. their thermostatic trim back plate, the largest part of the trim, is made out of plastic). That changed my search to other brands as I don't think it's right to cheap out on the parts when i have to spend $1000+I found Danze brand on Amazon and like the style a lot. I am not sure how the parts for this brand work (every brand is different in grouping a system) and I spent 1 week to study their materials and how the valves work. Here is the list for my set and hopefully it would help others to set up theirs:- D560144T (thermostatic trim, 2 controls for temp and volume)- D151000BT (thermostatic valve, to work behind D560144T)- D560944T (diverter trim, to divert between rain shower & hand-held shower)-> A, B, or A+B- D130000BT (diverter valve, to work behind D560944T)- D460059 (rain shower head)- D481144 (15" rain shower bar)- D469058 (wall outlet for shower hose)- D465007 (hand-held shower & bar)All these 8 items total to be around $725-------------I just received all of these components today and I was pleasantly surprised that 99% of the parts are made out of metals and they feel very sturdy and heavy. The only areas that I see plastic are 1) the small area where the hand-held shower nozzle is at and 2) the little round end cap on the hand-held shower. All the wall plate are made out of metal and the finish is fantastic.Right before I placed the order, I was debating if I should add 4 body sprays. Since I will be almost impossible to add them later (different valves are used, so I would have to take out the whole thing if I were to add the sprays later), I debated for 1 day and decided to go with no spray (about $350 difference). For those of you interested in sprays, here is the list, from my research: (rain shower + hand-held + sprays)- D562044T (thermostatic trim, single control)- D155000BT (thermostatic valve)- D560944T (volume control trim, need 3 total, 1 for each component)- D135300BT (volume control valve, need 3 total)- D460244 (body spray, quantity depending on personal preference)- shower head, hand-held, outlet and arm are the sameIn this config, there will be 4 trims total and volume for each component can be controlled individually (A, B, C, A+B, A+C, B+C or A+B+C)I hope this will help those that are choosing a shower system. I will update actual using experience and pictures when my construction is completed in couple weeks.

Very Attractive Supply Elbow For Hand-Held Shower Installations.
Nice clean little fixture. I had a little trouble getting the required length of exposed red brass pipe extending from the surface of the wall. Tried shortening the pipe, but that didn't work. Finally bought the next shorter pipe (1/2" shorter, standard size) and it was perfect. A plumber wouldn't have had that problem and would have had both pipe lengths in his truck. The other problem I had was that my supply pipe in the wall is directly above the single valve control, so the hose came straight down and clattered on that new fixture, Eventually it would have scratched it up. I fixed that problem by getting a 45º 1/2" street elbow (male-female ends) and turning the outlet on the Danze elbow 90º with the new 45º elbow angled out. Last step was to drill a small drain hole in the new underside of the Danze decorative cover. That worked great. The hose and fixture don't interfere with each other and I have a really attractive modern shower. The alternative would have been to move the location of the supply pipe over six inches, but after the hell I went through to install the new control valve I wasn't up to doing any more plumbing in the existing wall than I had to!One more thing: Danze includes a heavy rubber collar that goes on the red brass supply pipe. It acts as a seal for the hole in the wall around the pipe and the decorative cover piece is then pressed over the thick outer edge of this cover to keep it in place. That actually works very well.

This product IS all metal, no plastic. Looks Great in my shower.
I just received the shower elbow. I ordered the brushed nickel finish and it looks fabulous. This unit (at least in brushed nickel) is all metal. It came with an instruction sheet, the inside elbow, a black seal/alignment gasket that goes onto your pipe fitting, a smaller plastic spacer gasket washer (optional) and the brushed nickel cover. You will need a standard threaded 1/2 inch pipe fitting extending 1/2" to 5/8" outside the shower wall in order to get a nice tight fit that does not require use of the included spacer gasket. If your shower pipe extends further than that (between 11/16" and 13/16" from the outside wall), you can use the included spacer gasket to insure a watertight fit.I have Grohe (aka Hans Grohe) fixtures and I saved money going with this elbow vs buying the equivalent Hans Grohe elbow. This unit's fit and finish goes perfectly with my Grohe shower fixture trim Grohe 19 494 EN0 Essence Pressure Balance Diverter Valve Trim, Infinity Brushed Nickel Finish and looks like it was made for it.I spent the money on the Grohe trim kit and valve and saved some money on the elbow and tub spout (these items alone could ring up to hundreds of dollars)- I purchased the American Standard 8888.033.295 Deluxe 5-Inch Brass Tub Spout with 1/2-Inch Connection, Satin Nickel here on Amazon and it looks like it was made for the Grohe trim kit.
