A1 Quality 'As Described' Replacement Part ...
Item had arrived in great time with no sign of any damage.Needed for a Kenmore '12' gas water heater that started to go on the blink exactly 'a year ago'.In explanation - last winter season - found the tanks burner 'not lit' after a shower - the tanks control box blinker light out. Upon trying to re-light the burner - it wouldn't do so. Removed the thermopile unit and cleaned it off - still no go. Got out its booklet and found that there happens to b a 'thermal switch' (the wires from this thermopile unit goes to). There's a 'reset' button on the switch - pressed it which did the trick - all then worked and no issues up until this winter season. Then same scenario had taken place about a month ago - same reset had triggered, The thermopile unit was still clean - so is the burner unit. Thou the reset put it back in operation and being that the tanks now at year '5' - decided to give it a good quick overhaul. While in wait for this item to arrive I yanked the main cleaning rod. Thou it appeared in decent shape - having less than half its life rendered eaten up and coated with calcium deposits - I opted for the new style rod - ""electric"" that had installed without issue. * This I highly recommend to all *Thou an 'electric rod' costs more - the rod is what saves the tank - electrics come with '20 year' guarantees - well worth the expense. I had also drained the tank which had been found to b mainly clear of anything - so the original rod was doing its job - thou it would only do so for a year or so longer til repacement would've been needed - me I didn't wait. In thinking that the tanks main issue is possibly this 'thermopile' kickin off the thermal switch I decided to do the changeout and go for that also. This replacement being of both the pilot and the thermocouple as one unit simply eliminates the hassle of trying to line up the originals (2 seperate parts) thus one less possible problem gets avoided. This one did happen to b the perfect replacement - fit right up - lit right up - no issues found. Past few weeks - tank opeates as it should. Now IF only it never shuts down again - we shall see what we shall see.

Perfect fit for my AO Smith GCV-300 Water Heater!
This complete kit was a breeze to install on my A.O. Smith GCV-300 gas water heater. My existing thermopile went out and would not keep my pilot light on. Instead of messing around with just replacing the thermopile, this entire kit also replaced the ignitor and pilot line. This saved me from having to mix and match parts, and made for an easy one-stop solution to get my water heater up and running again. The parts seem to be of good quality if not better than my originals. The metal was not thin, and did not bend. I'd recommend this kit instead of just a thermopile.
