Really cool
I love this fire starter, did a bunch of research before purchasing and it seemed to be a a good thing to add to my fire starter kit, and guess what ive havent stopped using it since i got it, this paired with a ferro rod burns super hot and gets fires going even in wet enviroments, only con is its super light so it will blow away if u dont secure it.

Works as advertised
Only advice I have besides buy this now is to have your tinder ready before you start. This stuff ignited so fast and hot by the time my shocking amazement wore off the fire was out. I practiced a few more times and got better. Besides working as advertised its also pretty cool and so cheap I'm going to practice with this one and show off to my friends and family and then buy another kit to keep in my caamping gear and safety kits

Be aware what can happen
I have no doubt that these work but camping season is over here and I am not inclined to test these in the house. Not a good move. Once ignited it gets extremely hot and water will not put the fire out. It will have to wait for next year to test in a fire. Use caution.

Burns hot and fast
If weight is not an issue, i.e. car camping, I would recommend using a Duraflame fire starter or log for longer burn time to get your fire started. I bought this for backpacking, where I need to keep my pack weight down, the magnesium is very light. One baggie is enough to get a couple fires started. The key is to be ready with kindling and smaller pieces of wood, to get the fire started. The magnesium burns hot and fast - so you need to be ready to keep the fire stoked. Easily lit with a butane torch lighter.Overall, highly recommended when weight really matters or for an emergency fire-starting kit. But if you’re starting a backyard fire pit or car camping, I would opt for the longer burn time of a Duraflame starter or log.
