I wish it came with better instructions
I ended up having to watch multiple YouTube videos on rewiring lamps in order to use this lamp rewiring kit. Once I watched a few different videos I was able to rewire my antique lamp, which was my end goal and I achieved it! The kit is a good one with all necessary parts, just needs better instructions.

Careful with the wiring
OK so I didn't have a complete lamp. I purchased a porcelain vase, looking vessel from a thrift store for very inexpensive. I was told that it was actually a lamp and that's why it was so cheap because I had to get the wiring and everything for it. So when I purchase this kit, I figured that it would fit perfectly. The two poles that came in the kit were too long for what I needed them to be. it came with a 2 or 3 inch long tube and I just used that for the washers and wire to go through so it would fit the lamp better. The directions that came with it are hardly what I would consider comprehensible. I had to watch a YouTube video on how to properly wire the lamp. The two screws that the wires go around are two different colors for a reason, the wires are different as well. It matters which wire goes on what screw and the directions did not imply that at all. This could be a fire or electrical hazard. Basically the nickel colored screw goes with the ribbed wire. And the wire goes with the copper colored screw. It also matters how you screw on the wire.I'm glad I watched an educational video because I had no idea and maybe that's just me but I figure someone else won't know either. Hopefully this helps you.Anyway, I got the sorted out and it's good enough I have confidence that it is safe and now I have a lamp so that's cool.
