I've been having some balance issues recently and thought a cane might help for certain circumstances.When I opened the box it came in, I noticed an off putting smell immediately. It smelled like incense, body odor and a faint sweet poopy smell. All in all, unpleasant but not overpowering. The cane itself was wrapped/taped in plastic and I was hoping just the outer wrapping was the offender to my nostrils.I was in luck! After completely removing the cane from it's packaging (lots of taped up plastic), I was able to confirm that the cane itself just smelled like highly lacquered wood.the cane came in four pieces. Three parts for the body and one for the head/handle. The top section of the three part of the body of the cane had a brass piece for aesthetics when screwing the handle on. Screwing the handle on looked kinda lopsided but the brass piece hid any kind of non-perfect assembly. The rest of the cane lined up just fine.The other sections of the cane had what looked like brass pieces that were lacquered over so it almost looks like it's chipping off. There were some other imperfections as well but since the piece is so dark, it wouldn't be noticeable until you were holding it/looking at it.I think it will work as an occasional cane but could probably use a different rubber foot. The included one seems like a hard rubber without any flexibility and is somewhat narrow (it tapers to a narrower ending point). I gave it 4 stars as it is comfortable enough in the hand and does feel solid.
