We bought the LEVOIT Superior 6000S Smart Evaporative Humidifier specifically to support our xTool apparel printer, and it’s been an excellent addition to our setup. Consistent humidity is critical for print quality, and this unit keeps our space perfectly balanced without over-humidifying. Coverage is impressive. It easily handles our large workspace and keeps humidity stable throughout the day, even during long production runs. Being evaporative is a huge plus. No white dust, no damp surfaces, just clean, even moisture in the air. The smart features are genuinely useful. The app makes it easy to dial in the exact humidity level we need and monitor everything at a glance. It runs quietly in the background, which is great when we’re working for hours at a time, and the large tank means far fewer refills. If you’re running equipment that depends on controlled humidity like apparel printers, lasers, or electronics, this humidifier is absolutely worth it. Reliable, powerful, and well designed. We couldn’t be happier with it.

The Levoit Superior 6000S has been a great humidifier and a noticeable upgrade from other models I’ve used. The biggest advantage is not having to buy distilled or reverse osmosis water—it works perfectly well straight from the tap, which makes daily use much easier and more convenient. It does a great job maintaining comfortable humidity levels, and the smart notifications are very helpful. I like getting alerts when the water tank is empty, so it never runs dry unexpectedly. The filter has also lasted a long time before needing to be replaced, which has helped keep maintenance costs down. Setup was straightforward, operation is quiet, and overall reliability has been excellent so far. This is a well-designed, low-maintenance humidifier that performs exactly as advertised. A great choice if you want strong performance without the hassle of specialty water.

I’ve been very happy with the Levoit Superior 6000S overall. The build quality of the humidifier itself is excellent — it feels sturdy, well-designed, and premium compared to many other units I’ve used. Setup was easy, and the Wi-Fi connectivity works smoothly, allowing full control through the mobile app, which is very convenient for adjusting settings remotely. Performance has been solid, and it does a great job maintaining humidity levels. Where it loses one star for me is the filters — they feel somewhat flimsy for the price, and replacements are quite expensive, which adds to long-term ownership costs. That said, I want to highlight Levoit’s customer service, especially Doms, who was outstanding. When my original unit developed a small crack on the rim of the water tank, they handled the issue professionally and sent me a brand-new replacement humidifier without hassle. Overall, this is a high-quality smart humidifier with great performance and excellent customer support. If Levoit improves the durability and pricing of the filters, it would easily be a 5-star product.

August 2024 - This is more of a preview of my review as I have just bought this item and won't start using it until late September probably. I live in Minnesota and the air in the winter time is super dry and I use a humidifier in my 900 sq ft condo from late September until early April to battle all the issues that come with dry air. The last several years I've been using the 6 gallon Airfare humidifier and it has been a workhorse - very effective, super simple design however I've always been on the look out for a more attractive looking, more functional humidifier with maybe a little bit of tech involved and that also had a 4-6 gallon tank - very hard to find - however I think this item will fit the bill. I probably use 2-3 gallons of water in the dead of winter every day in a humidifier to keep my home humidity in the 35-45% range. My very initial thoughts on this product are - great design and build. Super simple set up. The app worked fine - it found the device and connected to it with no issue. The fan is whisper quiet on level 1 - and still very quiet on level 2. Even on level 1 and 2 the fan output upwards seem very good - moving a lot of air. I will update this review with more detail in a couple months with more detail once I actually start to use it. OCTOBER 2024 - UPDATE I have finally been able to begin using this humidifier regularly now that the weather and temps have gotten cooler and the air drier in the Minneapolis area. I am really liking this humidifier, it works well. Probably the one thing I appreciate is that the fan directs the air out of the device straight up - so it hits the room ceiling and spreads out - so it really helps circulate the moist air, in fact all the air in the room efficiently. I love the 'night mode' as the fan just runs at a very low speed all night - the display turns off and it just provides a constant level of humidity all night. I move the humidifier into my bedroom at night. The fan speed is low and there is no noise that I can hear from the fan. I'm also able to set up a schedule in the app so it goes into night mode automatically every night at 10:00 p.m. and another schedule sets it to 'auto' mode in the morning. The app also tracks the humidity level and fan speed so you can see the history of your room humidity. The wheels are a great feature but if you have 5-6 gallons of water and try to move it on carpet good luck - they just don't work - you need to grab the lip of the tank and lift it up a bit to move it on the wheels on carpet - but on hard surfaces it moves fine. Overall still like this humidifier a lot - provides a little bit of technology to a basically simple device which is what I like. The display is gorgeous and the overall look of this humidifier looks like something Apple would design. DECEMBER 2024 UPDATE We are now in the middle of winter here in Minnesota. The air is very dry. The dewpoint ranges from 0 to 20° so the outdoor air is very dry and the humidifier is running very regularly in my one bedroom condominium. This is one of the reasons I really need a humidifier with a large 5 to 6 gallon capacity otherwise I would be filling the humidifier up way too often as it is with these conditions. I’m using 5 to 6 gallons of water once every 24 to 36 hours. I’m still really loving this humidifier. It’s probably the most attractive looking humidifier on the market so it adds to your home overall look the efficiency of it and the connection to the app on your phone are great and it has been working flawlessly with no issues. As noted it uses a lot of water this time of year where I live so I do have to fill it up once every 1 to 2 days and during that time I use the opportunity to do some light cleaning on the device. Typically, I will take some Lysol bleach spray and spray it into the empty water tank area. Let it sit for a couple minutes before rinsing it out with hot water, drying it with a towel and then refilling it with clean water. I’ll also wipe down the moisture that accumulates around the top portion. One of my initial concerns with this device was that it was not using a bacteriostat treatment in the water, but I’m not seen that as an issue now as I just spend a few extra minutes making sure I clean the device when refilling the water tank. The one minor complaint I have about the device is I am noticing that when the water tank gets low, there are some droplets of water that drip from the top portion where the fan is down into the water tank so you can hear a drip drip drip sound, however when the water tank is more full, those droplets don’t have as far to fall so you don’t hear that dripping sound. This is not really an issue unless the device is near your bed. It may bother you, but if it’s in another room if not an issue when you’re sleeping I did replace the filters after two months of use. I probably could have gotten more use out of them, but I just wanted to replace them regardless and anticipate that I will replace them 2 to 3 times over a six month period in the winter months when I’m using the device. The only other minor complaint I have about the device is at times the fan speed will kick up to a very high level as it’s trying to raise the humidity level to the point it wants to, and that loud fan noise can be a little distracting however I can quickly change the setting via the phone on my app or walk over to it and change the setting to reduce the fan speed if it becomes bothersome to me, which is rare. JANUARY 2025 Well we are in the middle of a very cold snap here in Minnesota - temps in single digits and the dew point is around 0 degrees. So super dry air outdoors and the humidifier is using 5-6 gallons of water per day - I typically fill it up every night but I'm feeling cozy and comfortable in my one bedroom condo. I do feel that the 'night mode' puts the fan speed at a nice low level for sleeping however I'm not sure it is enough to properly keep my condo at the level of humidity I want so sometimes I put it on manual mode with fan speed at level 2. I'm also figuring out a good cleaning regimen every time I fill it with water - I have some Clorox Multi Surface Cleaner and Bleach spay bottle - I just empty the water tank and spray the inside of the water resovoir with the bleach spray and let it sit for a couple minutes then use my kitchen faucet hose to simply rinse out the tank and dry it quick before refilling. I do notice that at some point there is some pink or yellow build up in the middle section where the filters are so periodically I remove the filters - again, spray the plastic area with the bleach, let it sit for a minute then rinse and wipe it down before replacing the filters. This of course is normal with standing water in a device when no chemicals are used to inhibit this growth but the overall cleaning effort is minimal and it's designed in a way to make it easy to clean these surfaces. FEBRUARY 2025 - updating this again in late January 2025 as I did a cleaning session on this item and noticed some pink slime build-up in the middle plastic section - the portion that covers the water tank - there are some nooks and crannies that aren't easily reachable and I had to remove the 4 screws that hold the two pieces together that allowed me to get in there and clean it more deeply. I did notice a little pink buildup inside the hose for the water tank - I'm not sure how I'll clean that - hoping the citric acid will help remove that as directed in the cleaning instructions. FEBRUARY 2026 - This is another update to my reviews - I've now been using this humidifier for two full winters now in Minneapolis. I've early February so maybe I'll be using this for a good 30-45 days now before we are into spring the the air is not as dry. however - my experience over these last two winters has been great - the device has had no issues - works just as well as it did day one. I usually replace the filters about 3 times each winter about 45-60 days apart. I guess my only annoyance is that the air is so dry in winter here that I have to refill the tank every night - it will use 6 gallons of water per day! but that is one of the reasons I bought this particular item - is the large tank - if it was any smaller I'be be refilling it even more times per day! We just went though a very cold two week period in Minnesota and it was running all day long keeping my 800 sq condo perfectly humidified around 45-50%. My skin is so thankful! The device is easy to clean and maybe once a week I remove the filters and spay the filter holder with spray bleach and let it sit for a minute before washing and wiping it down to keep it clean. Highly recommend this item.

This LEVOIT humidifier is amazing for my whole house! The 6000S model covers up to 3000 square feet easily. The smart features work great with the app - I can control it from anywhere. Super quiet operation, even on higher settings. The evaporative technology is efficient and healthy. The water tank is large and easy to refill. Perfect for dry winter air. My family has noticed better sleep and fewer dry throat issues. Highly recommend!

Let me start by saying this is an excellent humidifier! It does an incredible job of keeping my ~1,000 sqft. 2BR apartment humidified. I'm extremely satisfied with how effectively it will humidify my place that can get as low as 15-20% without humidification. Now, the area for improvement: The improvement could really come from Auto Mode on the Vesync app and how it integrates with the smart features of the humidifier. An unfortunate flaw with the Auto Mode is that it does not allow you to select your own preferred humidity level. It has 2 settings (home and away). The humidity level of these settings are dependent on the ambient temperature in the room as read by the humidifier, which always is about 5F degrees lower (most likely because wherever the sensor is on the unit is being influenced by the damp cooler air coming out of the machine). In my opinion, this falsely causes the humidifier to run at the 60% humidity level on the "home" setting for Auto or 55% setting for "away." Personally, that's a bit more humidity than I'd like to have in my place with nighttime outside temps in the teens Fahrenheit already in December. It just causes too much condensation on the windows. I'd prefer that I could manually "set it and forget it" on the Auto Mode at 50% and minimize the window condensation. By no means is this a deal breaker, but it's definitely an area of improvement the app developers should do to the auto mode where it's selectable by the user instead of having default humidity levels based off the incorrect ambient temperature. I have reached out to the company to see if this is something their developers could work on, so hopefully they'll be open to the feedback. Looking at some of the few reviews that there are so far, it seems like there are others that share my thoughts. The app and humidifier do have a function where you can manually select the humidity level you'd prefer and it will maintain that level. I'd liken this to a hybrid manual/auto mode. The only caveat here is that you have to set your own fan speed and it's either on or off. It doesn't cycle through lower or higher speeds to just maintain your desired humidity level like an auto mode would. I've found myself using this feature since the auto mode is just unreliable with the temperature readings influencing the auto humidity levels defaulted by the software. My Levoit 300S humidifier's auto mode setting is perfect from the Vesync app, so I'm hoping the developers will create an option for a user-selected auto mode and then the 6000S will be perfect. I still rated it 5 stars because it does everything it's designed to do extremely well. The manual does say that Auto Mode will maintain 50% if not connected to the Vesync app (which would solve all my auto-mode woes because all I want to do is set the thing to 50%) but I'm a bit of a tech geek and love data, so I'd prefer to keep the capability of monitoring everything remotely while I'm away just to ensure everything's working correctly. For anyone who made it this far in my review, don't let what I've mentioned discourage you from buying the unit. I think this could be a pretty simple software/firmware fix if it were something enough people requested and found to be somewhat problematic with the current app and humidifier settings. Even despite the auto mode issues, the app and unit itself has tons of functionality that really make it a great product! Albeit a bit expensive, but I have faith it will last quite a long time. Seems to be well-built, overall and I have not have had any leakage issues like some others have mentioned in their reviews.

This is the best humidifier I have ever owned and I have owned many. I heat my 2000 sq ft home with a pellet stove and the main room of about 400 square feet is kept at about 80 degrees all winter. So, you can imagine how dry it can get. This Levoit 6 gallon evaporative humidifier does the job. I have to fill it about once per day. I have NO problem with odor or keeping the wick filters clean. FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS. Use the dryer setting between refills. It totally dries out the wick filters which helps to keep bacteria and such from growing. I use filtered tap water. I fill using a 3 gallon bucket that fits in my sink. DO use a a water additive. The directions say not to, but I think that is mostly meant so you won't go trying to add bleach or scents. There are water additives you can buy in bulk on Amazon that are meant specifically for wick humidifiers. The one I use works perfectly. I add about 3 oz to each refill of 6 gallons. No smell, no slime whatsoever. I've been using the unit since November and it is now almost February and the original wick filters are still in great shape. I do not rinse out or clean the filters. Using the dryer setting and the water additive keeps them in great condition. ALSO - as the unit draws down the water, it will shut itself off with about 1-2 quarts of water still at the bottom. The water is often yellowish and has a bit of an odor. This is normal. It is important not to leave this water sitting in the unit for a prolonged time (like days). EMPTY IT! And then just give the tub a very quick rinse, wipe it out with a paper towel and you are ready to refill. Very simple. But you have to do what you are supposed to do when you are supposed to do it. Do this and the unit will work perfectly and your filters will last a long time. I see no reason why my filters will not last until the Spring when I stop using my pellet stove. BTW - this unit creates NO white dust or powder. It also does not put water droplets into the air. I have mine about 2 feet from a glass patio door and there is never any condensation on the door or the glass. No water or moisture around the unit ever. The only thing that gets moist is the air. The controls are great too. You get to set the moisture level to your liking. I set mine at 45%. I have a free standing hygrometer that I place on the other side of the room that confirms that the moisture in the air is in fact about 45%. Just remember - do what you are supposed to do - when you are supposed to do it -and I think you will really like this unit. And DO use a specialized additive to the water to keep the unit and the wicks clean and odor free.

I was searching for a nicer looking console humidifier for the whole house and stumbled upon this beauty. It looked, and sounded perfect. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the cleaning every 3 days, but I just do it before refilling. Filling for me is a breeze, as I can roll mine right over to the kitchen sink and fill it with the faucet itself, as it extends just over the counter. So no, it's not as simple and easy as the fill and forget console style humidifiers, but for all the other features it offers..I can live with it. Biggest downfall for me..In trying to figure out what sensor wasn't working (bought 2 more hygrometers to figure this out, besides the one on my ecobee), I've come to the conclusion that this thing would benefit GREATLY by having it synced with the remote sensor Levoit makes for their thermostat. The humidifier sensor on the unit is the only one that reads differently, so it's basically useless, making it difficult to figure out the correct settings for the comfort level I'm looking for in the house. The humidifier has consistently shown (in the app) a temperature 5 degrees lower than the actual temperature, and a good 5% over in humidity from a sensor at the same level, 2 feet away. Keep in mind that the 3000 sq ft they claim, must be for a VERY open floor plan, like 1 room. I have mine by the return vent, and placed properly. As for "initial" quality, it's plastic, but what isn't? The "quality" is in the design, the energy saving DC motor, the pump, and the "smarts". The ONLY area that I might have concern down the road, as far as possible leakage (something we all think about with humidifiers), is the water level indicator window. Again, the biggest improvement Levoit could possibly come out with, is a compatible remote sensor that works WITH the humidifier to more accurately read the room...please? UPDATE: Less than a month of use, and the filters are spotted with green. NO indication that they need to be cleaned, with 80% life left. I'm wiping the unit with every filling, which is about every 3 days as recommended. Running 24/7 as it's been very cold outside. I'll be calling today (UPDATE: Called, again..nobody is EVER there to talk with..EVER) to see if the fan short cycling every 10 seconds is normal between low and medium. Set on auto, 50%, it's seems to start the short cycle between 44%-45%, bring the humidity up 1%, then down 1%, before changing the fan speed. Seems a bit chaotic to me. FYI..I've never seen 50% in the house, 41%-42% max..maybe at the unit itself, but not 2' away. Temp at unit is 5 degrees off consistantly. I suspect it would throw off the auto settings slightly. So I've come to the conclusion that one should not rely on ANY of the settings on the unit itself. If people are going to make these things "smart", they also need to be accurate, or just keep them dumb. All said, it's doing a good job at keeping the house humidity pretty level @ 41%-42%...set at 50% AUTO. In the mean time, I have sent an email to Levoit, which you pretty much HAVE to do, and will now wait up to 2 days for a response to my questions. UPDATE 2: 4 Days later. After emailing as instructed, I'm still waiting for a response from Levoit. Not sure if I'll be keeping a new product with ZERO product support. UPDATE 2: 6 Days later, I received an email in the middle of the night, and thought I'd share the non- answers to my questions.. Sorry for the late reply due to high volume of emails around this time of the year. (6 days for product support?) Your experience matters to us. And we would be happy to assist you. For the humidity readings, it is detected automatically by the sensor located in the aroma box. This sensor is highly sensitive to humidity changes, which would have slight different humidity readings from other hygrometers. We appreciate your understanding. We are also appreciated for your kind suggestion about this. (this does not explain why it gets stuck short cycling between 44-45%, and why have an "auto" at all if your sensor can not get an accurate reading in the environment?) For the green spots, they are impurities (just "green" impurities..good to know!) filtered by the filter. Then the unit can blow clean moisture out. Rest assured, it is normal. The harder the water (we have near perfect water in my region) is, the more spots there would be. Regarding this, we kindly suggest cleaning the wick filters frequently and using Dry Mode after the unit stops humidifying (good to know..its winter, and will be done "humidifying" in February) Regarding the fan speed cycling, we would like to let you know that the Auto Mode will adjust the target humidity automatically based on the indoor temperature (which has been stuck on 68 (in the app)since I got it, while I keep my heat at 74-75). Here are the charts showing how it works.(as in the instructions) To avoid this, we kindly recommend running the unit in Humidity Mode, which would automatically (ummm, auto mode?) run the unit constantly to reach the target humidity you set. (and then?) Customer satisfaction is always our priority. Feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are always here to help. (really?..6 day's later..in an email) Conclusion..It's nice looking, does the job, and it's quiet! Once contact was made, they were VERY responsive and bent over backwards to make things right. I was also informed that they are working on "optimizing" auto mode (fingers crossed), hopefully making it more accurate with an update so it doesn't leave "smart-ish" people like me scratching their head. UPDATE 3: Firmware update made AUTO mode COMPLETELY useless. House is kept at 74 degrees. Humidifier (now air conditioner) reads 66-64 degrees, instead of the usual 68, and AUTO mode now kicks it into HIGH gear, with those arctic breezes lowering the temp in my windy TV/dinning room to 69 (as read by external thermostat) degrees, with humidity reading 37. Why would anyone want to run an AC on HIGH in their home, when it"s 0 degrees outside?!
