Has its short comings, but is a fantastic buy for the money.
The bag seems sturdy, even though glass is a little better than plastic in some situations, I actually wish the tubes were plastic. I worry they might end up broken just carrying things unless they are in the plastic container. Hammer seems good and sturdy, won't know how well it holds up until I strike something with it. Chisel seems ok, I like the protective grip on it, it feels sturdy but like the hammer, won't know until I start striking things with it. The shovel is a bit of a disappointment, it's very thin metal with a light plastic collar to lock it in whatever position you put the head in. The handle on the shovel is 2 piece and thin metal, the pouch for the shovel is very cheap. I would personally use a trenching shovel from a camping or surplus store instead. Brushes are cheap but will do the trick until they lose bristles. Jewelers loup is metal, magnifying lens works well. Compass actually points north, but I probably wouldn't plan on using it to guide you anywhere. The flashlight is a UV light, even though the barrel in it is a lot larger than a AA, that is what it takes and it seems to work well(does not come with a battery). Plastic case is sturdy enough, and should last for a while. Tweezers are cheap but will work fine, and the safety goggles will work fine to keep dust and debris out of your eyes. This might seem like a negative review, but I'm just giving honest opinion on everything in the kit. Overall you could not buy all of these items to build a kit for the same money. The bag, hammer and chisel would cost you more on their own, the rest is just extras. Pretty excited to take this out on some adventures with the kids this year in all honesty along with some other things we have for this year. Decent kit to get the kids out away from the TV and phone and do something outdoors. Can always replace items as they break with something of a different quality, but this is a great starting point for the money. I would guess the bag will out last most of the items inside it, but I could be wrong, it's only single stitched around the edges instead of double stitched, I may run another stitch around everything if my sewing machine will push through the fabric, it's pretty durable feeling canvas that it is made of.

Great for the cost
These pieces are nice for a basic and starter rockhounding kit. Made well enough that there have not been any issues of tools breaking, but do expect normal wear and tear. Carry case is super convenient with room for more.

My 6 year old grandson loved it. It does have a pocket knife, compass, pick axe, shovel, specimen container, safety google, etc.

Cool little kit! But I would really like to get what was advertised. Very well could be just a mishap.

I love it!!! 10/10
I have yet to use these for rock hounding but for the price of everything you’re getting- it’s worth it. I must also add that I am new to this hobby and find this kit very beginner friendly! Like I mentioned, the value for the price paid was great. It brings everything you need so the functionality is there as well. The items seem well made but I will update this review is that’s not the case. The pack to store everything is ideal in size and looks very discrete. I took pictures of all the items. I am very satisfied!

Good for beginners
Loved all the tools included in this and the bag is strong. The hammer and chisel worked well and I liked all the bags/ specimen collection containers. The shovel broke on the first use. Bought 3 of these and all three shovels are no longer usable.

Tools are adequate, Google's broke on first use but that's fine, specimen jars were ok rather small. But over all 3.5/5

I added this to my fossil themed Airbnb. It’s a great addition. Great quality and lots of fun little trinkets in there.

Great beginner's rockhounding kit. The shovel and pick were my choice items and they did not disappoint! The brushes came in handy to get a better look at specimens while on site. The bag is sturdy and served as a specimen collection vessel which worked wonderfully

Very cool. Real tools for amateur geologists and rock collectors. The case is pretty cheap, and awkward to carry, so plan on switching the kit to a backpack if youre planning to take it hiking..
