Update: Customer service gets 5+ stars! I'm quite impressed with customer service, so you can buy this product with confidence that you'll get good support. Customer service replaced the thermometer a couple times for me. I still experience some variation with the readings, but nothing severe, and it's definitely better than the first thermometer. I definitely recommend the trick of pulling up the ear with the opposite hand (It's in the instruction manual). Original review: When I first opened this product, my initial thought was that this thermometer looks and feels like quality. Even the user manual is quality. The user manual is very nice--it's in color, the paper is thick, and it's written well by someone who actually speaks and understands English. The thermometer gives quick readings, and it's easy to read. The piece that converts the thermometer from forehead to ear is easy to take off and put back on. I haven't tried the forehead thermometer just pointing at the forehead, but it works nicely touching. However, I tend not to trust forehead thermometers because we had a forehead thermometer in the past that had TERRIBLE accuracy. This one seems way better, though. I bought this solely for the ear thermometer function because a doctor told me to buy an ear thermometer. However, I'm having some trouble using the ear thermometer. I'm not getting consistent readings. I guess I just can't find the "sweet spot" to point the thermometer to take the reading. Our old ear thermometer stopped working, so I bought this to replace it, and our old ear thermometer worked better than this one. I think the nozzle of this ear thermometer may be a bit shorter and the tip isn't quite as narrow. It feels a bit different inside the ear from our old thermometer. I can take 3 back-to-back readings in the same ear and get different results. I even tried the tip in the instruction manual that said to lift the top of the ear. I just don't know how to accurately place this to get an accurate reading (or it's the thermometer itself). I have to take readings every day for medical purposes, and I need accuracy, so for that reason alone I'll be returning this. Maybe others have better luck than I do. But other than using it as an ear thermometer, it's nice.

I LOVE this item! This thermometer. Need a quick read on a sleeping baby? Hold it to the forehead and in a moment you have an acurate read. It pops off on top so you could tease via the ear, lastly, u can test the ambient air temperature buy holding the thermometer in the air and taking the reading. It is accurate, simple to use and easy to get a whiny child's reading quickly. This will be my go-to baby shower gift!

Hello. A Mechanical Engineer here, purchasing this item after reading many reviews across multiple products. I decided to purchase this one. First, out of the box, I installed the batteries that came with it. Nothing happened. I checked that they were properly installed and wiggled them around. Nothing happened. So I grabbed a pair of lithium, that I prefer anyway, stuck them in and immediately got a response. Second, I assumed the batteries were bad, tested them and they appeared to be good. So I messed a little with the spring contacts in the unit and put the original batteries back in, Nothing happened. I realized I had one in backwards, "DUH!", so I flipped it and immediately got a response. Yay! Third, I did put the lithium batteries back in since I prefer them to alkaline as far as power supply is concerned. I tested a forehead temp at 98.8 and then an ear reading immediately after at 98.7. I waited 5 minutes and did this again. It came up 98.5. (I did just get up from sleeping in the morning and my temp should slowly be creeping down) In my educated opinion, this appears to be a good unit that appears to be relatively accurate. Read the instructions. It explains the forehead skin temperature variations, which I was already aware of, and also states that you should take a reading both ways. It mentioned how it takes into account the ambient temperature when reading a forehead and I found that to be an important feature concerning forehead skin temperatures. I was then impressed that this unit is rather well thought out and a nicely engineered product. Of course, time will tell of its longevity and prolonged accuracy. But my first impression was very good. Except for the battery thing of course. It seems to work well, quick readings and appears to be rather accurate.

Poorly packaged but the thermometer works fast. It just arrived and I'm pleased with the quick delivery. Easy to use, just add the batteries it comes with, turn it on and aim it at the room or a person. The reading was accurate for both 😀

This is the best thermometer I have ever had. It is fast, extremely accurate! I have purchased several of these kind of thermometers for my kids over the years and non of them compare to this one. The other ones were not accurate which is not good when you have small babies, some would burn batteries fast, some broke super easily, or took to long to read the temp. This one is super fast and I can get an accurate temp on my kids before they move. I love how it also has the ear option and the option to change between babies and adults. The batteries have lasted me a long time! Comes in a nice box for storing and a cloth to clean the lense part. It maybe more expensive than some of the cheaper brands but I promise it is worth it! I have recommended this exact brand to everyone I know! If you are on the fence I am here to attest to just buy it you will love it!

I have purchased three of these. I bought the first one to replace one that I had that I had that did not work. I gave the first one to my daughter when my oldest grandson was sick and she needed a thermometer. I purchased a 2nd one, then my son needed one for his child, so i gave it to him and purchased another one. I find it to be very accurate, priced good, and I like that you check the temperature by the ear of the forehead. The first two that I ordered came with a nice sturdy hard case to store the thermometer, which I like. The 3rd came with a storage pouch, I liked the hard case better. I have no more children to give my 3rd one too so I should not have to purchase another anytime soon.

I bought this thermometer in March 2024. It has great features, and I really liked it. Now fast forward to near the end of 2025. I wasn't feeling good & wanted to know if I had a fever, so of course I pulled out this one. This is an infrequently used item because I am the only one in the household, so I always remove the batteries before storing it. I put them back in, and checked my temperature using the forehead method. I knew that it was way off because I would have been dead!. I checked it several times this way, and while I didn't get the exact same reading, it was close. Then I tried it several times by the ear method. The reading was much more realistic, but was it correct? I pulled out my old fashioned glass thermometer, stuck it in my mouth, and waited 3 minutes. I had a perfectly normal reading. When I compared it to the memory of this thermometer, it was clear that both methods on the digital thermometer were off, some were way off. When I first received the iProven thermometer and tested it on both myself, and another person, the readings were accurate using both methods. It occurred to me that maybe the batteries were to blame, so I used an OHM meter to measure the voltage of the ones that I had stored with the thermometer. They were still 1.5 volts. Still, to be absolutely sure of my findings, I took 2 brand new batteries, measured them (they were both over 1.5 volts), and put them in the thermometer. A recheck of the results using both methods resulted in the same ridiculous readings. It wasn't the batteries. I can only conclude that this product is a piece of junk. If you can't be confident about the readings, what good is it? Now I don't even have an expensive paper weight because it isn't heavy enough to be much good. You have been warned!

In ospedale mi hanno detto di NON comprare questi termometri ottici per misurazioni su fronte o orecchie. Le letture che forniscono NON sono per nulla attendibili. NON COMPRATE questi articoli
