Excellent for seeing details
All models get mixed here. This is for the DeskBrite300 LM-30.First, what this is not for--the light is pure white. That is perfect for seeing the details of something you're working on--it is not for general ambient light, it is very harsh. For seeing details of anything beyond your overhead light, it is excellent. And that's just using it as a lamp. When you need to see something small you're working on with tiny screws, etc., or if you're old like me and can't read small labels, the magnifying glass combined with the white light is incredible--infinitely better than trying to use a separate magnifying glass and light. I hadn't even thought of this use, but my wife and I can finally read those small labels on everything, including the dosages on over the counter medicines. It runs off USB-C--it comes with a plug in, but if like me you already have a USB charging block on your desk, you can use that instead. Best, when not plugged in it can run off 3 AA batteries (not rechargeable), so I can take it to the dining room table when working on a laptop, or need to see something under my desk without dragging a cable around.I was really just looking for a desk lamp when I saw this, not something with a built in magnifying glass and that could run on batteries. This is so much better for my use cases. If you want a desk lamp to see details, and the option for magnification to read small labels or work on small things, this surpassed all my expectations. If you just want a desk lamp to leave on all the time--again, the same light that works so well for details is too harsh to just leave on.

Cool magnifier
I purchased for a gift and it was well received. I decided to buy one for myself, and it does exactly as described. Pretty nifty magnifier to have around.

Cross-Stitchers Best Friend
I love these lamps. Actually, this is the new/improved version of Carson's previous model table lamp. What is new - there are now four LED lights. Previously there were two lights. Also, there are two levels of brightness. The magnifier is the same as the previous model. Great for travelling to all those stitching retreats!!

Nice light, but ...
I like this light overall, but the battery implementation could use some work. I use the light plugged into a power strip on my bench, when I turn the power strip off the battery kicks in, and that drains the batteries. I wish when the power was cut, that the light would turn off and then if I wanted to turn the battery power on I could choose to do that.

My Fishermans Loves it
Bought for my husband. He loves how he can bait his hooks faster. The magnifier and light work great. As my husband's eyes age, it was getting more difficult to hook and modify his bait. He is very happy with this product. No assembly required which made us both happy. The electric cord is a good length.

I am pleased overall with my purchase of this lighted magnifier
I am pleased overall with my purchase of this lighted magnifier. I read reviews that suggested the clamp was cheap and do not find that to be the case. It is superior in every way to the one I am replacing bar one. I wish the light were more intense, but it is sufficient. My old magnifying lamp frequently fell apart because the threaded section that connected the arm to the magnifying lens was so short that bending the arm down and up to adjust my view frequently made the lighted lens part fall off of the arm. This necessitated taking apart the lens component to put the nut back on the threaded part of the arm. It became quite a pain. The construction of this new one is much more solid and I do not anticipate this kind of problem with it.

NIFTY
this thing is really cool! I sometimes do illustration with tiny specimins and its so frustrating to either juggle a hand lens with pencils or fumble with a fixed task magnifier thats just never in quite the right spot. The gooseneck design on the boaMag allows u to attach it just about anywhere to get the perfect angle. I put in a few cup-hooks under & around my studio desk hutch so i could suspend it wherever it was needed. The xtra flashlight on the other end can be handy but its also heavy, In a future version i might just chuck that in favor of a lighter clip or clamp (& maybe even a longer neck so it could really coil up as a freestanding base?). really the length is pretty great as is & works like a charm

Practical and does the job very well
With my age affecting my ability to tie fishing flies, I needed some help and turned to the Carson - got it and love it - does everything and more that I had hoped for. My flies have improved significantly even when tying size 20's which I had given up trying to do before the light. My only wish is that the light could be brighter but am finding that I can manipulate the angle of the light and it works fine. Would definitely recommend this to anyone needing to do close work and can attach it to the edge of your worktable. BTW, the screws will lock it into any position you select or if you prefer, leave the screw loose and easily swing the magnifier out of the way when you don't need it.

A wonder product for cross stitchers.
I use the magnifying glass To do my cross-stitching..I love the clarity of seeing my pattern and working on my soda cloth. I use 16 count and they are tiny stitches. I would recommend this product.

Useful for our application
This is a great product!I would change one thing we use it with the AC power adaptor when it is plugged it is not very secure. That is it comes unplugged with slight movement...this was easily fixed with the aplication of epoxy...Otherwise still wondering how long the LED's will last and if I will be able to figure a way to replace.Overall at this early stage I am happy with the BoaMag.

so unfortunately not happy with it
I'm not really using it because I can't seem to get magnifier or light positioned correctly for my needlework, so unfortunately not happy with it. As well the light is not bright enough.
